We went there once and it was quite racy track. They had the areas undisputed King of flagmen [ Spanky Hall ] so you know that racing was carried out efficiently and the program was ran in an orderly fashion.

#453030 Quick question to learn from your answers
Posted by racepace on 14 October 2022 - 04:05 PM
THE CUSHION:
Same cushion for everyone be it Super Late or 410 sprint winged and non winged.
What makes one of two equal cars faster around the top?
My answer: Driver skill.
Second question is: "When watching shat do you see the car do which makes one faster then the other?".
IMHO one of the coolest things for this fan to watch happen is when after that "slow" looking takes it's time trials the announcer comes over the loud speaker with:
"QUICK TIME"
why? how come? ???

Thats how it was watching Freddy Smith qualifying in the 00 machine. You would think that car was almost going in slow motion because of how smooth it was taking the corners and the next thing you know they were announcing that he had set fast time!

They were charging $5 for a hot dog at the test and tune

To think that anyone can stop at Sheetz and get 10 hot dogs fixed the way you want them in lesser time for the same 5 dollar !

The purses would go down because the track would have to provide quick charging stations that regular poratible generators cant handle ?

Watching old man Gurdak # 5 crate have to restart last after that big pile up and then be challenging for the lead at the end alone was well worth the price of admission!

I agree about the language though. One of my teachers early on told the class that using that manner of language shows a complete lack of intelligence and poor upbringing. I know that a wealthy sponsor didn't want to get involved with a team after he heard how the driver carried himself with the decent family orientated sport of racing. Look what that kind of talk and what was written on their t shirts did for the Bobby Pierce clan. It does nothing to promote a positive image for the driver or the sport.

I guess it is coming up on Sunday. I'm darn trying my best to be there. I was fortunate to make it the last 2 years in a row, The way that Dave Hess was running there 2 years ago i was thinking that he was a shoe in for the win but then Boom Briggs ended up winning convincingly. It was such a popular win for Briggs because his Dad was in the hospital in a bad way and Mr. Briggs took the nice trophy to his Dads hospital room and gave it to him to cherish in his final days. Last year was a race that was won by Chub Frank, It was a good old fashioned rout. I hope those boys head on over there this year and make the race interesting like the last couple years that we attended. Also those Scott boys were running hell bent for leather ! We also atendended a few weeks ago when the wingless sprints competed. It was a thrill watching Chad Rhulman put on a great display of running the cushion lap after lap so well. He probably didn't mind that his son finished ahead of him though !

#444237 $5.00 Admission

At Stateline Speedway on Saturday night was awesome ! Best value yet Watching David Scott run the cushion with such precision was a beautiful work of art. We almost felt guilty for paying so little admission because the racing was so good. Great food as well. The subs and French fries were good. Will plan on going soon.

#440810 I feel like writing down how I think SLM's work

Everything is so complicated for me with the cars handling operating more off of the right front instead of the right rear and the top machines have college educated engineers working with them. I would like to see the rules reflect the time before the new millennium where it was 85% driver and 15% car. Now it is 85% of house cars winning most of the races. If it was a series based on the IROC rules I'm sure that some of the the top drivers of today would be mid pack at best.

All you need is a 12 guage shotgun. Just remember to shoot all windows from the inside out so that you don't have to vacuum up broken glass from the interior of the car.

Looks like he got out just in time with this assinine new point system that has been dreamed up. Pretty soon the Cup races will only have friends and family sitting in the stands like some of the truck series races have been lately!
