#453489 Fab Four Racing Results from Lernerville: 5-5-23

Posted by Hans Solo on 06 May 2023 - 09:26 AM

thought  I heard announcer say DQ for 48 for intentional bringing out the yellow.  Don't see that very often.  From the stands at the other end of the track, I thought Norris came up on him a little,  on a rough track.   That's racing,  certainly not worth loosing points over if your running for points.  It cost 48 about 13.  Crew worked there tails off all night to better the track.  sometimes it looked to me like drivers were hitting those ruts on purpose,  was better surface on both sides.  Oh well,   that's why I sit in the stands and not in a drivers seat.   was on the road home by 11:00.  Thumb's up L'ville

#453035 Lots of Race Cars For Night #1 of the Steel City Stampede: 10-14-22

Posted by Hans Solo on 15 October 2022 - 12:29 PM

Excellent post 17,  but I thought they moved the program along as best they could.  Compare it to Latrobe,  night and day!!  Thanks to L'ville for running the classes in an order that will allow us oldtimers to see the main classes and get out of the cold.  BB's SLM Sprints RLM POPS all ran first.  I appreciate that!!!!  And a 4:00 start is a nice effort to race when its a little warmer.

#452553 Zarin wins Lernerville

Posted by Hans Solo on 16 July 2022 - 11:16 AM

Login Zarin gets his first SLM win over Lux and a hard charging Flinner.  Flinner and Zarin had an "incident" on the back stretch that sent the 48 to the rear on about lap15.  It was hard to tell what really happened but Zarin said he was sorry in his winners circle interview.  Another great race!!  Lux had a very good car.  Kind of a thin field,  no Miley,Feree, Norris.  It was just Zarin's night!!!   Kuriger won the sprints from the pole,  but the sprint story was Flick started tail and finished fourth.   Eric Rudolph stopped by on his way to the BRP race to win the BB feature from the fourth row.  Entertainment of the night was a guest appearance by the Hobbey Stocks.  May have been 14 (?).  One of the MaGill bros over a Koteles (65).  MaGill would lead , then 65, back to 05.  excellent race.  was on the road home by 10:30.

#452103 Gregg Satterlee Takes ULMS Victory at Lernerville Speedway: 5-13-22

Posted by Hans Solo on 14 May 2022 - 10:04 AM

Garvin was fast time in Qualifying but Announced he was DQ'ed for skipping tech, then later said he didn't pass droop rule!!  what's up with that!!  Wasn't it great to see Chub up front.  hope he races all the ULMS series.  Felt like I was at an old STARS race.  Track was awesome,  early rain storm may have helped.

#452102 Lernerville tonight

Posted by Hans Solo on 14 May 2022 - 09:56 AM

was kind of a crazy knight.  red flags during hot laps,  big car counts(bigger than normal)  B mains ,qualifying, tractor broke on the track.  But they still ran a good program. kept it moving, and the racing was very good.  Kudos to the track for running 22 Big blocks in the feature.  Isn't it usually 20??  Krummert was on his way to a win but rolled in turn 3 with 6 to go.  might have hit the cushion.  Gave the win to Murdick who was also fast tonight.  ULMS continues to shine IMO, There should be more of them at L'ville!!!  was a late nite though,  lot of people left and missed a great pro stock race,  hope the POPS at Latrobe get Pro stock support tonight like that!!

I don't do much more than racing anymore but try and entertain  yourself for four hours for $20.  I think it's the best deal going.  What's a 2 hour movie cost?

#451688 NASCAR wha wha what the ?!ck

never watch halftime shows!  The fact that there is a halftime show in a race tells me the whole event was TV driven.

I didn't think it was the worst NASCAR I've ever seen.  Better than a cookie cutter race like Kansas or Chicago.  Getting tired of the hosts and guests being giddy about it though,  like it's going to save Nascar.  It was certainly better than the Pro Bowl.

#451545 2022 Lernerville Schedule

Posted by Hans Solo on 08 January 2022 - 07:51 PM

They do bring in a lot of people. I think Lernerville is too big for them. They seem to put on a better show at shorter tracks. Emig appears to have too much influence on what happens up there. If anything, I'd guess she wants one of her classes (or more) on the regular Friday card. My personal opinion is that the track continues to draw fans because of the current regular show. So, dropping the BB's in favor of a RUSH class or something else could hurt their front gate. If the current owners are really in tune with what is happening locally, then they would try to help the Modifieds, not turn their backs on them. Often times the Modified feature is the best one of the program.

Right again Skull.  Even with low car counts sometimes,  racing is great.  But quality of racing is not really the deciding factor.  I don't think BB are going anywhere either,  at least i hope not.  But I think they have wanted crates on a weekly basis for some time also.  Would they draw more Crate LM than BB"s??   Is the purse less??  May be changes at this track now that WRG chains are supposedly off.  Having lived thru the Challenger closing.... I'm just glad someone is still willing to chance running a race track.!!!   I'll be there on Most Friday nights and I'll get my 15 bucks worth too!!

#450674 Marion Center Raceway Results: 8-21-21

Posted by Hans Solo on 22 August 2021 - 11:25 AM

was another good night of racing at MCS,  in  all divisions. I hope the late evening is a fluke and not the norm.  For a minute I thought I was at Dog Hollow.  Midnight with 2 features yet to run.  The semi's at this track are fun, but their 21 car feature took almost an hour,  including a very nasty roll in turn one .   Track was in great shape.  Why are they Time trialing the SLM.  Thumbs up to Matt Lux for winning this two track mini series with TMS.  An extra 3k to a local boy is always nice to see.  thought he had the best car tonight but Lee ran a beauty!!  Had some Hummingbird cars, because of the rainout.  The 23 Swauger  strictly stock won.  14. pro stocks,  the 73 car looks like it's for real!!  Crowd was the usual,  Large

Track continues to provide good Sat night  racing.  Another large crowd.  I wish they would utilize there web page more.  I knew nothing about extra purse for the SLM till I got there.  Almost went to the Pro stock race.  Not everyone uses Facebook or Twitter.  They have a nice web page,  Use it!!!

#449744 Why????

Posted by Hans Solo on 25 May 2021 - 08:49 PM

I hear ya Chrome,  no one likes higher prices.  But this is a hell of a show for $20!!  I think ticket prices for our sport are very reasonable compared to other forms of entertainment.  JMO!  If your looking for a good race this weekend,  the BRP is at The Bird.

#447901 PPMS sh*t show

Posted by Hans Solo on 30 August 2020 - 09:34 AM

Flinner and Geisler both got suspended for fighting. Also they both were following the NEWS series. I dont think the wearings were racing weekly either.

New Decade.............Same old feud!!!

#447670 Latrobe Results Someone?

Posted by Hans Solo on 09 August 2020 - 05:36 PM

Track seemed to hold up ok.  did a little water and run in at int. while fixing the lights.  The Supers sure seemed fast.  fast time I believe was 19.  Peger earned this one. from 3rd row had a great battle with Angeliccio for lead while lux and feree chased. Was disappointed in the car count. (15?)  SLM feature was over by 10:30.   Crowd was good enough to give SLM one more shot I hope.

#447573 BRP Modifies Plus Super Late Models at Thunder Mountain: 7/24/20

Posted by Hans Solo on 25 July 2020 - 04:41 PM

It was dusty,  ....track was ruff in places but I thought it was very racey.  Lot of close battles thru the back of field.  pile ups were in turn four.  Krummert was gonna win this race till he broke.  Rudolf made several good attempts but 29 was just better.  King jr. also had nothing for him.  Nice run by Swartzlander.  Like to see him travel to some of these BRP races.  Been watching Paul Kot run this BB #7.   Might have had motor problems,  still got a top ten.   No John Mollick??   may have had the crate at the Ville.   Only 8 pure stocks....that's disturbing with Marion and Dog H closed.  Treated a fair crowd to a good SLM race,  but I think this track is really suited for BB Mods.   MORE BRP
