Kid was on of the strongest and toughest people i've ever met. He was just starting to truly hit his stride as a driver despite actively battling cancer. It was a pleasure to know him as a racer and a person and watch him grow as a driver and human being. Always smiling and loved giving time to his fans and being part of the racing family. You will be missed my friend

This is the best thing i've read today. For just $32 you too can enjoy their smooth jams. Had to do a double take and make sure it wasn't a tribute to Foghat per the usual.

#440131 Peterman/Lee/Martin question

Spending happens in every class. It's the same with economods. You have Wilson running the CRS PRI show car that sold for $30,000 ans the motor in that thing sings. Plus they pull in with a toter home... then you have Rhoades with a brand new lethal and a big motor. Those guys have $30,000 in their cars alone compared to Miller, Reinwald, and Alexander who have probably half that in total. Money doesn't always beat talent but it erases a deficit...

Then you have Lunger whining because pro mods couldn't run Elite series races and how it wasn't fair... Well there's a rush series for pro mods that economods can't run in so it looks fair to me. Not to mention it's not as if he doesn't have enough going on with the open emod, the pro mod, and the crate late... you can never keep the money train out of lower classes. If you can't beat em, move down and outspend them.

Hell of a race tonight between Hess, Chub, and Blair tonight.

And again you are proving my point. Yes he ran well at Stateline and Eriez Bc he knows the track better than anyone. Go somewhere else and run well and maybe Ill change my mind. Until then Max is a Cherry picker and always will be.

I'm not trying to disprove you point, i agree with you. It's that this has been beat to death in the past 3 years and it's not going to change. He does well here and he stays here. Max had to opportunity to drive for someone and that ship has sailed. No sense in getting worked up over it.

A mutual friend went to Suppa's shop with him a week or 2 ago and said they bought the trailer and engines for him. They had 3 Crates sitting in the shop and he was picking up tires or something of that sort. He didn't say whether Proper owned it but I know that when this came about he was driving it for them. That may have changed but that wasn't the initial agreement.

You're welcome. Heats are tough there, track is always a little greasy and overdriving it is pretty easy to do

That's another thing tracks like TM and Eriez have going for them. They don't have the constraints and can do what they want. IDK what exactly the benefit for Lernerville being with WRG is but when you look various special races and how tracks structure total nightly purses, Stateline having the non sanctioned $8,000 to win LM race this weekend, the Outlaws back this year, and having the all stars. Tracks like that are proof that you can do it on your own with a diverse schedule, good marketing, and rock solid management. Thunder Mountain and Eriez are also solid examples of this.

The problem is that how many regional tracks run sprints and/or big blocks weekly? Just Lernerville and those 2 classes are barely hanging on. I can see Sharon switching completely back to sprints in coming seasons and then were does that leave big blocks. I love big blocks, always have and i'm very sad about their regional state but big blocks aren't a draw here. We know people love sprints here but weekly sprint shows aren't anywhere near what they used to be in large part to there being no circuit. Lernerville has that claim as the only track that runs the big three and has that famous name but those two things are about all that place has left.

At this point I'd consider the lates and emods as well as complete show at Eriez to be THEE weekend show more so than Lernerville. Will be a great show Sun with the BRP tour there. Lernerville is still an awesome track and has that heritage, I am glad they went our of the box with the wednesday shows but resting on your heritage and famous name isn't going to bring tracks into the future, at least in this region.

#437690 Thunder Mountain Increases Division Purses for 2018 Season

Posted by sicario on 22 May 2018 - 10:09 AM

The semi late class there is a pretty good deal. Basically an economod motor and similar shocks. You can into that class with a used roller and motor for around $8,000 to $12,000 depending on how much you want to spend.

#437541 Rush Sprints may end up better that their brother lm's......

Posted by sicario on 18 May 2018 - 10:13 AM

This is the best idea and series to come from rush. It's driver reliant and has no aero. These cars aren't vastly underpowered and it should be by far the best racing from any crate class. And for that matter, Lernerville has had 3 races.... but yea, they're interesting because of the lack of downforce and their unpredictability, basically everything the lates aren't.

I agree. Good day today. Lots of lm's. Who was in the black late nodel with freen sail panels? Had a trailer with #61 that looked like Joe martins old font.

Sharon added a third all star race and have a total of 9 sprint races scheduled.

#433492 Racing this upcoming weekend?

Posted by sicario on 07 September 2017 - 03:45 PM

Applefest could be two great nughts of racing or it could be a snoozefest. There has been zero consistency eith track prep and half the time they pack the cushion in. A slick track with no cushion makes for a rough and boring night. I fear that's what they'll get. With sprints I'm sure track prep has been minimal and they'll want it slick. If that's the case the sprints will run the cushion to the wall and then it'll be gone. Sprints will be first and everything after will be a train. I hope not but that's my guess. Maybe the forecasted rain will put a little moisture in the track and they can maintain a cushion.
