Walt, I am sorry for chiming in so late, but I was wondering if you by chance have the 1998 season review magazine for the Super Dirt Series in your collection? If I remember correctly, Danny Johnson was on the front cover because he won the Mr. Dirt big block points that year. If you do have it, would it be possible for you to save that for me? If not, it's no big deal. I used to have it but must have thrown it out by accident. Thank you! BJ Swartzlander

I always try to stay out of conversations about our team on message boards, but I feel like I owe it to our team to explain what happened on Friday. We were fully aware what we needed to weigh with the car that we run, and it was my responsibility to calculate fuel and add it for the race. Because of the excess clay on the car in the heat race, we were over weight by about 30 pounds. I completely underestimated how dry the track was for the feature and failed to add enough fuel. By our calculations, we were about 3 gallons short. There was no attempt to fool anyone, it was just a very bad miscalculation on my part. I am not used to being that close on weight and it definately was a lesson that I won't soon forget. I apologize to everyone that comes to the race track to support our team. It was embarassing and disappointing to say the least, and I hope that it never happens again. I especially feel bad for my dad who drove a great race to end up in the front at the end, only to have it taken away because of my mistake. Either way the end result was fair, and Matt Williamson drove a good clean race and deserves the win.
