the race ace wont run a track that big.  too fast and he'd have to get into 4 barrel.

you might just see my car at one of your local tracks this year and i don't know why you think i have a bone to pick with   you i never mentioned your name in any of my posts and never intended you to think i was for one minute that i was talking about you .in fact the pure stock you ran was at one time my old car, so we have more in common than you think .i have ran dog hollow in the past but you see i work Friday nights so that keeps me out of the racing there .go get that car of yours as fast as you can and  we will see how good it is .like i said i don't have any problem with you but this bickering back and forth is getting old and i never mentioned you as a problem .

#412249 Car counts

I promised myself i would not reply to this subject, but i guess i am allowed an opinion on this as much as anyone else . there have been a lot of good points made by a few people on this including the legend himself and i never agree with him but i will give him at least a shout out for his opinion , the reason car counts are down at least in the street stock class is because all the tracks  threw the rule book out the window . when Hummingbird had a reasonable set of rules there were 20 cars or more but by allowing the rules to be  bumped up every year they lost all the older cars  i  refuse to run against a car with heims end trailing arms and a bert transmission in a street stock if you want this stuff fine then make a super stock class so you can draw these cars but from what i have seen by the 10 cars at marion center and the 8 to 10 cars at hummingbird your rules package left us little guys in the dust . now i am not saying to change the rules this year but maybe to bring the cars back you need to reign them  a little , how about this a set of stock trailing arms and a 750 vaccume secondary carb or pick a carb and stick with it maybe a set of 4 hard tires pick a compound and check them when you scale the cars like Marion center does to their crate latemodels after the feature . you built the wall to high now fix the problem because more cars mean more fans that come with the cars and that means more money for the track owner.guys with cars over 5 years  old have no chance of winning anything  so they take their engine and put it in a  old late model  at least they can make a buck for a nights work .happy racing to you!!!

I agree the class needs fixed. You want to take it back far enough that you can race what you have and be competitive, and that is not economically feasible for everyone. You make claims that all of these teams have non-competitive cars sitting around, waiting to race. Really? How many of those cars are truly race ready?  Or ready for the torch? 8 inch tires? How many teams kept their 8 inch rims when most of the regional tracks went to 10 inch tires?  I also agree that stocks should not drive or look like SLM's, but I don't think taking the class back twenty years is going to solve anything either.

I have never once said to take the class back twenty years . but bert transmissions and full roller engines put a lot of guys out of business heck the streetsstock  class is a dry sump and a full tube chasis  and a quick change rear end from being a full blown  late model if these big dollar street stock  teams  want to run a late model then they should have bought one instead of ruining a once good class . how many cars do i know  that are good cars not running and not ready for a torch ????i can think of at least 6 within 10 miles of my house some of them are almost ready with a few hours of work but why race against those semi lates they are making look like street stocks ? i say fix this class the best way possible for everyone involved that is why i wanted to have a meeting to discuss this with louie at hummingbird years ago not a scream fest just a idea session.

I was going to try and keep my opinion to myself but when you get some know it all nail bender from Pittsburgh throwing his dumb ass view around  i might as well be as dumb as he is right ????so Jeff Taylor lost money huh ? you know this for sure or did momma decide that home is in New jersey and want to go home ? kind of like the old t.v series green acres only in reverse .this guy sold 88 hillside spots for 100 dollars plus charged you every week to sit in that spot add that in .when he had his rules meeting he said and i quote .....I know nothing about any class but sprint cars so you guys make the rules on your own class and that what they will be , but then he turns around and changes the pure stock class right off the bat .triple disc clutches and double pumper carbs in the pure stocks ???really??? and then a 10 inch tire on  a 8 inch wheel, i asked why not a 10 inch tire on a 10 inch wheel  then you could get older street stocks out of peoples garages . oh well he is gone the track is closed and that is that, maybe someone will reopen it that has a clue to what needs to be done .as for not having anyone around here that has any money to race if the classes were set up right you would have cars .

wow    here we go again .... it was paved in the first place because Wallace was promised some kind of nascar deal and the guys that did run there actually had  a nascar drivers license ,as for location the place is like 4 miles off of route 80 and the truck-stop is right off clearfield-exit and they are open 24 hours a day . they did make money as a dirt track but you cant sell your nascar driving son on a dirt track .

i had a 98 chevy with the 5.7 in it it was hard to start one day and i drove it anyhow  well it shut off at a stop sign and i had to tow it to a garage it turned out to be the pick  up coil in the distributor so try that or have a garage do it like i did .

the bad thing here is this is just one more black mark on clearfield count racing and of course he never said any of this stuff anyhow , he was misquoted by a person who has no reason to misquote him or who even knows him .if someone wants a good track with a little more work to be done this would be a good place, but you can't come in here and treat people like he did this year, the first year he was here he was going around thanking people and greeting people on the hillside this year he did everything he could to avoid the drivers as well as the fans. but  now on the other hand we went to dog hollow saturday night and there is a promoter you can actually talk to he was really nice to me and my kids and the track was really nice all night long and when the drivers thanked him for such a nice track he said time and time again " i have one of the best crews out there prepping this track and if it were not for them i would not even have this place "and he thanked all his  workers a few times, they are going to have a show in a few weeks to close out the season and it should be a good one for sure .if you have not been there for a few years get out your winter gear and go watch .there is no racing this week but the big show is the weekend of the 25 for practice ,26,27th for racing .probably have to watch through the snow flakes !!!

danny gill won the late models , fuzzy fields won the street stocks , justin queen won the pure stocks ,jeremy ohl won the semi latemodels , stephanie lucas won the four cylinder front wheel drives  and the 305 sprinters was won by the #44   i think but i could be mistaken good car counts in everything but the late models only around 10 of them but around 15 to 18 in every other class.this was at AMP.
