Dave mentioned this to me earlier this summer. I have not talked to him recently so I hope this is accurate.
THIS IS SOLELY MY OPINION/COMMENTS:
I think Hesston Speedway is offering the opportunity to own "stock/shares/piece of the business" by buying in. If it is ran as a corporation, there would be a board of members who would have a say in business decisions. This would let the track continue operate no matter the situation. When Ericksen's purchased the track, they "reinstated" Juniata Valley Racing Association. Think this dates back to when Sonny built the track.
IMO - I hope it works. I am involved in a family business. Times are tough. Dave "upfronted" the money to renovate the track. Everyone knows there are unfortunate serious health issues. This would ensure the track could continue to operate if he were to become ill again or if he chose to "retire to Florida". The track would not close and racers would not have to hope someone stepped up to the plate.
There would be a board who could make decisions - not one poor sole who gets crucified if the public doesn't like a decision. The board would see the financial side of the track. There would be checks and balances to keep it profitible.
IMHO - I do not care for the limited schedule at Hesson. I do not care for "specials" only that costs the local people/racers more money. I've personally spoke with Dave concerning this. But, I do enjoy being able to have some weekends off - to have family time or race elsewhere. It comes down to our teams choice to race Hesston's schedule or not.

I don't think it effects the fan count. I know first hand the difficulty explaining to a "first time" fan the mechanics and rules of each division. IMHO - I think it really comes down to tradition. Kinda' like when a football team changes their jersey.
*edit due to coffee not having full effect yet.

Just a fans opinion... the classic style monte body is nice. It can be achieved with some work. Sleeper Chassis can bend a nice body. It separates the divisions. I'm not against new body style either as long as it kinda' looks like what you saw on the streets. I still drive a 96 Monte Carlo every day. Some of the bodies I see now... I can't stretch my imagination that far.

Did a little research... found out the weekend of the race is also homecoming at Juniata College and a bass torney at Raystown Lake.
I know for a fact Whitetail Ridge Inn is booked Friday and Saturday.
The other hotels/motels are:
The Motor Inn - 6920 Motor Inn Drive, Huntingdon, 814-643-1133
The Fairfield Inn - 9970 Shaner Drive, Huntingdon 814-643-3672
Comfor Inn - 100 S. 4th St., Huntingdon 814-643-1600
Mill Stone Manor - 11979 Wm. Penn Highway, Huntingdon 814-643-0108
I know all have adequate parking for haulers.
There are a few bed/breakfast around but do not know any information...

As a local race fan of Hesston Speedway please remember there are extenuating circumstances with a family matter.
