#399380 Thunder Mountain Update

Posted by dylchris on 06 October 2014 - 07:23 AM

The track is opening up under their rules; their divisions, their money and hard work and effort.  I am putting together my race programs to race where I wish to race them; if I choose to race steel blocks that is my choice; if Thunder Mountain chooses to make steel blocks and 305 sprints their headliners so be it.  It is their investment the same as it is my investment to put our cars together to race where we choose.  I am the consumer; I can go there or somewhere else; it is my choice the same as it is everyone elses choice to go where they want.  The problem with our sport is there are too many people that have one view of what racing is and if it is not in alignment with theirs then it is wrong.  They will not get full fields as stated above IMO, I beleive they will get 16 to 18 steel blocks and the track is very conducive for good side by side racing and as a fan first and car owner second; that is what I enjoy and I will choose to see.

Best wishes with everyone on the end to the 2014 season and 2015 racing seasons. If you choose to frequent this faciity, I will see you there.

They are running the Steel Block late models and allowing the aluminum cars to race if they place the weight on the mid palate.  It is a steel block division, a steel block purse. What would happen next is he removed the weight rule and the placement of the weight and still offered the steel blcok purse, you would be griping he wont get any aluminum cars for that purse structure.  It appears to me that he is trying to do what he know he can afford to offer.  There are many steel block cars in our racing area, look at Marion Center and Hummingbird on Saturday nights; generall a pretty good field at each track. Thunder mountain has drawn 15 to 18 of these guys in the past.  If the aluminum cars want to race for a steel block purse; then they can with the penalty.

#389889 Racing for Heros (Clinton co.) practice last night

Spot on Sadiedog; it was amazing how fast and tacky the track stayed even at the end. Jake Shady looked bad fast, the last car on the track for the night, and when the few rolls are worked out of new surface it is going to excellent.  Thanks for the efforts to get the track back in shape for practice, everyone got to see first hand your commitment.

The 69 car does always look good. I know you have pride, but I do not understand why you take a shot at a group of drivers you never raced with; and more so if your own efforts weren't good. Really I looked at every results page posted at PPMS and every show I knew you attended and I found 4 top 10's in 50 events or so and 2 of those were 11 car mains, and one top 5, unless I am missing something; I do not get it. What makes you the expert?

best wishes for the upcoming season, I will see if we can make it to PPMS enough to race with you.

Dude I keep my car in car show condition all year , I'm not coming to your demo derby that pays what 1200 to win ?

There you go, showing your ignorance again; why not research where some of these Hummingbird Rum Dums have ran and won for that matter before opening your pie hole. You really are sickening with your total lack of respect and ignorance. Maybe if you wasn't so pompous; people may help you. If the average driver at Hummingbird, had the equipment you profess to have; they would be competitive no matter where they unloaded.

Where have I bragged about my accomplishments in a race car ??? Before I decided to run superlates i was able to win. The part your missing is that every track I go to im racing against the best guys at that track that night, I dont run back woods tracks like hummingbird where guys win with 1996 bullits. I will opeanly admit to anyone who asks I have not done as well as I would like to and a lot of that is a result of not having nearly enough time to prepare and trying to handle all of the set up decisions my self. If someone else makes you calls and does your chassis you didnt win the race they did. My comments on here do not make any claims that contradict what is stated above. I will do better this year. If you would like to come show me how easy it is theres plenty of cars and motors for sale buy yourself some and come show me
