According to a quick look, May 31, 2003 was scheduled for Latrobe for the York Sprints but was rained out and not rescheduled.

Here is the result story from the 2002 York Sprint race.  From what the result story says, there might have been a 2001 race won by Hawley, but I would have to look deeper to find that.

Andy McKisson takes career first Sprint feature win in York Triathlon Sprint finale at Latrobe, as Rod George is champion

Latrobe, PA (October 5) - Andy McKisson from Strattanville, PA picked up his first career Sprint car victory in style, by winning the 20-lap Triathlon Racing Series York Sprint event on Saturday night at Latrobe Speedway. After a hard flip in last year's event, McKisson returned this year for a second try, and won despite arriving late and missing hot laps.

Despite dropping out of the feature event and finishing tenth, Rod George earned enough points to clinch the 2002 Triathlon Racing Series York Sprint Championship.

With the top six starters redrawing for their starting positions, the 20-lap Triathlon Racing Series York Sprint event started with Andy McKisson and Kevin Andrusky leading the field to green. McKisson took the early lead as Gary Kriess, Jr. moved to second by lap 2. Rod George quickly moved to third as the battle for the lead developed quickly. George moved to second between yellow flag periods on laps 3 and 4, as the lap 4 yellow was for a Jamie Smith spin in turn four.

On the restart, George moved past McKisson to take over the lead, as Kriess moved back in to challenge McKisson for second. After a lap 6 yellow for debris on the track, George continued to show the way as Smith had returned from the tail to join the battle for second.

George had clinched the Series title by starting the event, and his big lead and race came to an end on lap 11 when he lost power on the front stretch. Unable to re-fire the car again, he retired to the pit area.

McKisson inherited the lead, as the battle with Kriess and Smith continued on this final restart of the event. Kriess made a charge on lap 15 that was unsuccessful, and Smith worked on Kriess after he fell back. McKisson would show the way for the remaining distance, as he scored his first-ever sprint car victory with the Triathlon York Sprint victory. Kriess was a close second, holding Smith to a third place finish. Andrusky was fourth, as Deana Barbara was fifth. Butch Beasley, Gary Rankin, Brent Matus, Sheila Rankin, and George filled the top ten.

Heat race winners were Jamie Smith and Rod George, sponsored by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum and Meyer, Darragh, Buckler, Bebenek, & Eck P.L.L.C. respectively.

Rod George captured the Triathlon Racing Series York Sprint championship by six points over Kevin Andrusky. Andy McKisson ends the season third in points ahead of Brent Matus and Sheila Rankin.

This event concludes the Triathlon Racing Series York Sprint season. The Series thanks the tracks, race teams, and fans for their support in 2002. Plans are already underway for the 2003 season.
