A fully dresses 602 at $9,000.00 is far less than a fully dressed Gressman 305 at $20,000.00. Besides I don't see anywhere they are running those classes wingless.

Crusty1 you do know that was a WORLD OF OUTLAW race rite? Jimmy Seger was on his 9th total lap in a 410 car this season when he made the move on jason. Absolutely nothing against Jason Sides but this is his 90th plus race just this season. Jason made a small mistake and Jimmy took advantage of it. Small contact was made. It is very very tough to qualify for an A main against the outlaws. You can't wait. They are the best of the best.

The way Seger drove in the heat and screwed with Sides, I'm surprised Sides didn't kick his ass.

Went to LV tonight to my surprise they had 18 crate sportsman - 16 made it thru the night to run the feature.

I'm done listening to Greencar 55 and all the other Crate Haters, if this is the start of the division it will only get better. I'm sure this will be one of the best races of the weekend. I'm sure the open Stocks will also be good.
My point is you guys post that these engines are boreing, you're wrong.

A lot of those guys build their own motors for half of what a crate costs. And like green55 said he takes pride in doing it himself. If the crates are competing well then let them run with the open motors. The only people who save money by buying crate engines are the guys who cant build their own motors. It is another option but should not be mandatory. Plus how many guys are now going to spend ridiculous amounts of money on parts to be faster. The crate concept started out as a good plan but quickly got out of control and people are spending 3 times more than they use to. Look at the crate latemodels, what a cost efficient class that turned out to be.

If i have machine work done on my motor and buy good new parts I would spend more than a 602 and about the cost of a 604.
With that said leave the class alone!

Anyone spending $15,000.00 to $30,000.00 to run a 305 class at Mercer is F -n nuts!
