All I'm trying to say is that if the driver stayed behind the car in front of him to avoid the penalty everyone behind him would have piled up. The 2nd place driver give his position up once he pulled out of the racing line and had is hand out the window waving. The rule states single file restart nose to tail. This means the 2nd place car was not in the right position and it says nothing about where a driver should go if his car breaks. Again every driver in that heat did exactly what they should have done to avoid a pileup. Hopefully everything can be straightened out so a situation like this does not occur again.

He wasn't the only car that passed before the start/finish line yet he was the only car penalized. I'm pretty sure that every other driver was fine with him not slamming on the brakes right in front of them when they were getting on the gas. I didn't have a problem approaching anyone. I have a problem with being told according to the rules he is supposed to tear up 5 race cars instead of using common sense.
