In Topic: Jeff Babcock's Plans For 2009

22 January 2009 - 07:03 PM

Jeff Babcock and Dave Luchini Announce Their 2009 Slate of Events.

With a very successful 2008 season behind them that brought a total of 14 wins between the Stock Car and Modified Jeff Babcock Racing along with Dave Luchini Motorsports will be campaigning 2009 much like last year, only better. With work keeping Jeff busy for much of the year his schedule was hit and miss, but that was then.
With the winter season beset upon us with several inches of snow the yearning to travel somewhere warmer is like an itch that will be scratched. Luchini Motorsports with Jeff Babcock driving and Nic Pyka wrenching on the Dargie powered Edge will be heading down to North Florida Speedway for one night as the appetizer, then on to Volusia Speedway for an eight evening main course with dessert occurring for four nights at East Bay Raceway Park. After that a hit and miss outlaw type schedule will begin until the opening nights of Limaland Motorsports Park and Eldora Speedway in the state of Ohio where Jeff wants to double his championship pleasure.
Once the season gets into full swing “The Wayne Hurricane” and the boys will also race at places such as Waynesfield, Lawrenceburg, Montpelier, Portsmouth, Moler, and just about anywhere else the wind blows them. An appointment in Minnesota has been scheduled as well with Deer Creek Speedway to see just how those Golden Gophers race.
Jeff Babcock and Luchini Motorsports would like to thank their fans and sponsors for their support in 2008 and look forward to their cheers in 2009.

good luck jeff and dave, kick some ass down south and where ever u guys race this year! out of everyone going down south i think u have the best shot!!!!!!!jmo

What a schedule? Go to a meeting and we get told you will get at least 2 races a month and want a good car count and what do we get 9 shows, talk about being lied to. First Test and tune is on Easter, that' real convenient. The trucks got all but about 2 races and you want to see a class grow. I hope to see some races added soon for the mini sprints but right now I won't promote that track to anyone. Know of 2 people waiting to see the schedule who had looked at cars to move their kids out of karts, had the car they want located but was afraid this would happen and decided not to buy until they saw a schedule. Guess we spent an afternoon just to hear a bunch of BS and how they want this class to grow and become a stepping stone for those that want to come from karts and eventually go to the 360 or 410. If memory serves me right you had more trouble hashing at rules for the trucks to get them under control, maybe we should ask for another meeting and we'll get every week also, get away from 4 classes a night run 5 or 6, you told us in your meeting you can handle 5 to 6 classes a night or wait was that another lie, give the fans their monies worth.

bash on trucks so i bash back , run on the other track at wmp where the mini go carts belong. like i said before. there is more trucks than mini's, thank god he chose the stocks over the mini's. ask c-ville they might let u guys run there.lol

that is exactly the problem with this class. people putting 10 to 12 grand in these motors. Make it a stock motor rule, stock bore and stroke, can only be converted to alcohol and find someone who can tech, then i guarentee the racing will be much more exiting, Not the 20 running away with every race. Save money($4k for motor converted to alky) and much better racing. Just look at the MMSA, AMSA, 35 raceway or any other tracks that run minisprints. When 35 was getting 20+ cars a night, they had 10-12 different winnners a year. MMSA has had 10 different winners in 18 races, and AMSA has had atleast 6 different winners. How many has Waynesfield had? 3? 4?
Real exiting right there.

thats my point exactly they are boring to watch same guy win every week thank you

no need to apologize, i see where you where coming from. im just saying this all started out as a discussion about getting rules together for mini sprints and things of that matter and then you have people coming in saying how mini sprints are just go karts with wings and it turned it to this whole argument. just dont see why people cant stay out of it if they dont have anything to say regarding the topic.

lmao
