We have been to Portsmouth Raceway Park(PRP) twice this year and have not been disappointed.  As you said the track had very little dust last night and was multi grooved; there was three wide racing throughout the night in all divisions; definitely worth the four and a half hour drive from Western PA.  As you said the downside is that they normally take an intermission every week but if anyone is looking for some great racing action on a Saturday evening we would strongly suggest making a trip to PRP.
