#436179 Qualifying for your feature instead of your lineup in a heat race

Posted by woodhog on 03 February 2018 - 03:55 PM

Our 410 motor is about a second off of sodeman, bowser, shetler...we're not even at 800 hp, so we would never make the "premier" feature

#414160 Roaring Knob (Another Car on Fire Tonight)

What a total disregard for safety! If anyone wants to see what 3rd degree burn scars look like, my son will show you. He had to learn the hard way at a different track that does not have a fire crew on site either.

I also read that it was the flagman who had to get water truck to put out the fire

#408343 $50,000 To Win

When we ran daytona dirt world championship race in 2011, we took 2 karts, extra bodies, 3 animal engines, 4 flathead engines? And 11 sets of new tires all cut and prepped.
Finished 4th in animal supee heavy and got a plaque.
We now race 305 sprints and its actually cheaper than kary racing was for us. We raced karts for 16years.

Thats the way kart racing is. Most purses are top heavy. Most money races are winner takes all.

#390091 please pray for Darren pifer

Posted by woodhog on 14 May 2014 - 03:53 PM

Darren is back in his room after surgery. He will be in hospital at least 7 more days. His surgery went well, and we appreciate everyones prayers, and concerns. He will be back behind the wheel as soon as possible, but doctor said it will be at least 3-6 months depending on the healing and rehab.

I will keep everyone updated.

Thank you

Rod Pifer

#389992 please pray for Darren pifer

I please ask that this does not get turned into a bashing post.

Darren, is my son, and we ask for everyones prayers at this time. It was unfortunate what happened, but he will be back behind the wheel as soon as possible. Darren`s car developed a fuel leak in the heat race, and when he noticed it, he shut the car off and the fuel ignighted.

I have boot looked at the car yet, to see what exactly happened, but we have a maintenance check list, which is triple checked by myself, Darren, and our crew member Shannon.

Darren was air lifted to Mercy Hospital Burn Trama unit in Pittsburgh. He has 2nd, and 3rd degree burns on his legs, and ankles. He will have surgery Tuesday, or Wednesday. He was wearing a 3 layer suit, with full nomex including socks. His right foot got caught trying to exit the car, leaving him in the fire.

I need to say a special thanks to Bauer Brothers Racing, Jake Gomola, and everyone else who helped get everything loaded in the trailer.

Also HUGE thank you to Pastor Bill Beck. We have only known Bill for a short time, but he is a truly genuine individual, who we are honored to have as a friend.

Darren, who is 21, started racing karts at age 6, and moved into sprints this year. The out pouring of support, and well wishes for everyone including former kart racing competitors, local racers, PA Posse members, and even WoO drivers has been tremendous.

I will keep everyone informed as updates are available.

Thank you

Rod Pifer
