Um dude you just cant run 360s and non wings the same night. Waynesfield tried it and didnt get very many, because of the fact that many run both, and they use one car to run...well said racechasser i think that would work out great and it would give all of us a great weekend of racing
as for what skip said about running the non wings 2 nights in a row that would be a great thing and i think a regular show of 360 sprints, non wing sprint, stocks vs. trucks, and mods would be the best 25 bucks around to spend and watch i know i would be there every weekend and i could prolly talk a lot more people into coming if there were 2 sets of sprints running. to go along with what racechasser said about attica and fremont they run 2 sets of sprints every weekend and i think that has a lot to do with the fan base being so strong. if we could get 2 sets of sprints at our tracks down here i guarantee that the fan base would grow every week and pretty soon the stands would be filled at both tracks. just imagine that show weekly 360's, non wing 410s, trucks vs. stocks, and mods wow that would be awesome. plus they could come up with the points like attica and fremonts fast points.
i know were all just fans and die hard ones at that but i wish promoters would read this and start acting on it

for one i never said college didnt sponsor the tracks, i go to the races and see the same signs, lol and for the gas , beer and jobs, i didnt know if u read my post right , (but i noted back in the day) yes economy was alot better and stuff was cheaper and u could run and win with a 355 chevy on a full frame car.( so that was cheaper too) im not completely retarded (just alittle) and i know the diff in back in the day verus today. thats why its a thought and some comments. duh it a forum that i made a opinion on, i didnt say that its the best idea its was just a thought and maybe something to go off of. the college (unoh) sponsored speed week in florida too so im sure they might be able to adjust thier funds for next year, im not talking this week. it might take a couple years to put a deal together for all the tracks to agree, but they need to think about it.Master of all I agree with you on the three tracks but that was when beer was two bucks a six pack, gas was just over a dollar per gallon and 95% of Americas had a job!!!!!! I went to the field as people call it and there was a sign up there from UNO I know eldora has signs up also. So my bet is that the collage is trying to help out with some sponsorship.

The idea of the points traveling between the two tracks is a good one, as is alternating wing-non wing between the two tracks..(along with a rotation between the other classes)..and may entice some of the wing guys to go topless, and vice versa. Plus they wouldn't have to travel into IN, or MI, or farther, to race 2 nights in a row.
Also, keep points for the individual tracks, so each track can have it's own champion.....and if that happens to be the same driver at both tracks, then offer a $$ bonus.
Plus, as a way to get more people in the stands:
If you bring your ticket stub from Friday night, to Saturday night, you get $1 off admission. If you bring your stub from the previous Sat. night to Friday night, you get $1 off admission.
Of course this would mean some work for the people in the ticket booth...they would have to make sure a person wasn't trying to use a stub from 'last year', or 'a month ago'....
OR
Have a special ticket that has to be punched. Go to regular shows at LMP 5 times, get in 1 regular show at LMP for free. Go to regular shows at WRP 5 times, get in 1 regular show at WRP for free.
Our County Fair has 'Carload Night'. As many people as you can fit -inside- the vehicle, get in for $25 total. 'Carload Night' has the largest per day attendance of the week, EVERY YEAR. The local newspaper advertises it pretty heavily, and is there taking pictures of people jammed in the cars and trucks, and at least one picture and a nice write up get's on the front page of the paper....which=more FREE publicity
The more people you can get in the stands, to see what is going on and how much fun a night at the races is, the better!!
The more people in the stands=more money the tracks have for improvements. It also means an increase in the purse, which=more race cars, which in turn=more pit pass money, and on, and on.
Remember, promoting a race track is a business.

Cant believe it for once i agree with you on some thing, Some of these posts are making sence. just what ever it takes to make WRP profitable.Like i have said before makes no matter who is running the track there has always been some very excellent racing.
I really like waynesfield, and would like to see it be profitable and popular for many years to come! Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Fremont or attica...or the relationship they have. It's going to take time, and hopefully the losses can be sustained until the time it is profitable. The wingless show they put on is one of the best weekly shows in the state. I love 360's, and they are the main thing going nowadays (ascs) in about 47 states.....PA, Ohio, and Iowa are 410 country though. I think the 360's can put on an equally good show though if the cars are there to support it. The old days of Limaland and Eldora "sprint bandits" were a great show, it just seems as though the car counts aren't what they used to be.
That said, I would love for lima and waynesfield to team up if it is any way possible and profitable for all involved to do so. For those not familar, a group of FANS put together the FAST series. FAST: Fremont Attica Sprint Title. These guys went out and got sponsors and backing to offer a $50k points race for the top ten in cumulative points on both tracks in addition to what the drivers get from points standings at the individual tracks. Stuff like this will do nothing more than entice some of the tough locals to stay local, and strengthen local racing as a whole. Attendance, and car counts have been great at both tracks so far this year. PA has a similar series, and consistently get the best weekly cars, and fans every week.

I'm replying to this post from a little ways back.....I really thought that running non-wings and winged 360s on the same night would be great and bring in alot of fans. The show was great BUT... 413 adult paid admissions was not enough income to pay the purse. That is why Dean started making schedule changes. Now we all agree that some were "turned off" by the schedule getting changed, But Dean had to try something.
Believe it or not; there are some of us that have really tried to promote Waynesfield and get the word out to anyone that will listen for 6 years now. That is the ONLY reason I have spent every Sunday hunting and pecking at my computer for 3-4 hours. I have a big family, other thing I want to do, and I'm not a writer, but it needs to be done!
I want to say "Thank You" to all of you that have helped by posting the flyers lately. Keep telling everyone you can about Waynesfield. We need to get fans in the stands!

WRP and LMP do need to work together.

You could always put flyers on cars at LMP with $1 or $2 off admission prices to WRP and put an expiration date on it. You could probably fit about 4 on one sheet of paper if you did it right.
I thought there was a carload night on the schedule for sometime this season but I don't see it there now.

Times are tough all over, I kinda think thats most of the problem with both car counts and butts in the stands. From what I see WRP has been open to suggestions and tried alot of them. I do however think the stocks should have been given a lil more time to build the numbers up. Now please dont take that statement and build a even larger b!+$H sessionthose are pretty good ideas racinmama.
As for the carload night, it was changed to the $5 to get in night which already happened. The carload was going to be a carload (max 4 people) for $20................so the $5 price was the same thing as the carload night except made it easier for a family greater than 4 to get in for $5.
I also checked into the sign issue that was talked about in an earlier tread. The sign that used to be on SR33 had to be removed per some state regulated guideline (I would love to find out more from the state as to why they can't have this sign). They called all the businesses on that sign and had them take their sign down or else pay a fine per week/month/day??? Has anyone ever heard of a regulation that doesn't allow a sign like that on a State Route? Dean has at least made some smaller signs at the track that designate pitside and grandstand parking to eliminate some confusion. I think we need some stand alone signs advertising WRP. Heck I've seen other tracks have signs advertising their track but I don't know if it was some sort of grandfathered rule that allowed them to do that.
At any rate it's tough no mateer what we try this season but none of us have given up trying...we're still trying to fill the stands and keep putting on the awesome shaws that we have put on all year. With the help of all the racers in all divisions we'll succeed!
with it. Im thinkin at this point in the game If a class doesnt have the numbers maybe adjust the pay out instead of cutting the class? For instance say 300 to win based on a 20 car field, if the field is 10 then the pay is 150? I dont know if this is a good or bad idea. Just thinking its a way to keep classes.
Maybe thats what WRP needs to do, have the biggest selection of cars to stand out. Think about it..... 5-6 classes every night would give people the biggest variety of racing in the area.It seems to me that people like the track and the facility's are getting better and better. I noticed we have a wheel chair section beside the grand stands... now everybody can attend the races, reguardless of physical restrictions.People say advertisement is the answer but I know for fact my family put flyers from Findlay to Lake Erie and the from Findlay to Shipshawana Indiana. We may have innocently put up afew in the Fremont area as well.
I think a race car show in Findlay would help also, People in this area miss Millstream very very much and some do go to Limaland but alot have put racing on the back burner. At one time Findlay had a resturant at the south end of town that had racecar shows every week and it helped boost buisness they also had the radio station at that location afew times.
Lets face it with the economy people cant afford much but desperatly need a release from the daily drama.I had my truck at a local sponsors buisness on a tuesday and drew a crowd, Thats one truck in a small field in front of Findlay WalMart (trenton ave) beside Jac&Do's Pizza. What would happen if 20 racers showed up?Lets be honest Lima knows about WRP I cant say the fans in Findlay do.Im game if somebody wants announce WRP's presents.Give me the time and place Ill show up

I've been saying "we" need to advertise in the Findlay area. The only way we knew Waynesfield even existed was because my aunt sent an email saying that my cousin was about to win the point championship. I talk to alot of people in this area about racing and only a handful of people even know the track is there. I think Dean's name alone could draw in a few people from this area just because of the show he put on at Millstream. Hopefully Waynesfield wasn't at the Findlay Mall Show because they were trying to still get everything together at that point. (dean had just taken over shortly before that) I would even volunteer some time at the next one to sit at a table with some flyers, etc.
Anything I can do to help, I will. Just let me know.
Just my opinion of course.
Correct me if im wrong but i think Dean lives in findlay. I would think that should be covered.
