I have heard that WMP will be running Non-Winged Sprintcars weekly in 2011... And thats GREAT news....but thats all I have heard... Does anyone have FACTS on purse, amount of races, or anything about WMP? Im sure the Shobes are still trying to figure out everything and wont be sure intill next spring but any factual info would be great! Thanks Landon

Hey Landon, I think we are all excited about next year but I'm pretty sure you stated the only fact known. That is that the Shobes are still planning out next years schedule. Being that Mr Shobe posted on here as soon as he committed to running next year, I'm sure he will do the same when the schedule is done. Thanks for supporting WRP in the past and hope to see you next year. Have a safe off season. Jeremy

Greg Shobe posted his telephone number on here for this exact reason. If anyone has questions about 2011, call and ask him instead of speculating and fishing for rumors.

Speculating and fishing for rumors is just what it is, its only october and Greg is a very busy man with more than one job. WRP i would have to say has catered to the non wing racers more than any other class, So all i can say is take the good with the bad no matter what it might be in 2011 . At least we know all divisions will be back next yr and we just have to wait and see what happens. There is going to be a banquet so that might be a good place to get some questions answered Rather than calling him he always on the move and busy..

AK1 and Skip will you have a postion at WMP next year?... Im not at all fishing for rumors thats why I created a new thread instead of posting under the one with the rumors..... You guys need to look outside of the blinders and understand im just asking a question and hoping to get some facts thats what these things are here for right? Cub was at the Fremont Swap meet and told us that WMP will run non-wing sprintcars everyweek.... he had this info and gave it to us and I was very happy to hear it.

I dont know if i will work next yr or not i was asked to by Tami, i hate to hear what you just said that non wing will run every week. I for one like the 360,s and heard a rumor that there would be no 360,s next yr i hope that is wrong. Lima has built a big fan base with the 360,s. I know a lot a people that when the non wing run they dont come to WRP. There are a lot a people who like the winged cars and were upset with their schedule being cut back. Yes some times not to many would show up but if they ran on a regular basis i think they would show up. Just remember by running non wing almost on a regular basis (that what i mean by catering to them) they have grown from 3 cars at first until now. Dont get me wrong i have no problem with non wing but would like to see them every other week along with 360,s every other week. I for one would like to see some thing like the Fast series and when non wing would run WRP the next week they would run at lima. Then when the 360,s didnt run at lima they would run at WRP. But this will proably never happen but i will always support WRP what ever they run and if i dont work i will proably just show up now and then i for one cant really afford 2 nights of racing. i guess we will have to just sit back and see what happens next yr or what is said at the banquet.

I think one thing Waynesfield needs to do is select there 3-4 classes of cars and stick to it every week. I know that was always one of the complaints I had heard is fans never knew what was running because it changed up so much. I think making the nonwinged cars a weekly attraction is a smart move as they keep gaining more and more cars including several regulars from Gas City and MI. I just hope they keep the purse close to the same as last year.

As for the 360's the Lima regulars just have not supported the shows. Hopefully they keep 1 or 2 NRA shows for the year. The NRA vs SOD was always great weekend over Memorial Day with nice car counts.

I left a message on his phone a day or two after he posted his telephone number. It was a yes or no answer that I needed, and I still have not received a return call. Understand he is a busy man, just thought I would of heard some kind of reply by now.

I like the idea of 360s on the schedule ,and maybe not running so many classes !!! Most of the tracks I have been to over the last 30 years run 3 or less classes and try to develope a fan base for those classes ...but whatever the schedule I hope it is consistent ! Teams put to much money, time, and effort in to programs to race 2 or 3 times a year at a track. Not to mention there is only so many companies and businesses advertising dollars to suport these teams !!! Spreading advertising dollars between 410(non wing) ,360s ,e-mods,stocks,mini sprints, trucks, compacts, gocarts, drag racing, and race track advertising is something to consider while trying to grow classes ! (only so much money to go around) and this money is as important to the teams as race fans to a race track ! The F.A.ST. series has showed those who want to see how much better 2 or 3 tracks can do working together for the benefit of all !!!

Non Wing sprintcars everyweek and the same support classes as last year!!! This is great news for us non-wing owner/drivers! As soon as someone hears more on Purse and Schedule please let us know!!! I hope they at least start the season with tha same purse's that we ran for last year!!! It would also be nice to know if there will be any rules on tires for the sprintcar.....last year it was hoosier only? it rather see DT3 right rear or no rules at all!!! i had hoped to ask these questions at the banquet but Mr. Shobe slipped out the back door before i got a chance! Thanks Landon

so what everyone is saying on here is that they are going to run the same classes as last year with the exception of the 360"s. and they expect people in this area to support them. correct me if i am wrong but is"nt that what they have tried to do for the past 4 or 5 years with non wing sprint and compacts and trucks and mini sprints. and they have lost .why the they do the same year after year and expect a different outcome. maybe they should"nt run every week, or maybe they should work with limaland and start a series like fast . lord knows what they have been doing is"nt workin.

I still say a night of 360,s mods and stocks is a good lineup . The stocks dont tear the track up at lima. I have to agree with highwayman the last couple of yrs has been the same program and it has failed to get a good full stand. They have to get some kind of a program or series with lima and draw from them. Dont get me wrong i have no problem with non wing but if the purse IS DROPPED watch what happens. Just remember the non wings started with only 3 cars and has been given the best chance to grow on. just my 2 cents worth.

skip i agree with you but they should keep the trucks on schedule. its a neat little class for beginners. if they would keep the rules in check it can be a good place for racers to go have fun without spending 15 grand. and the non wings are a good show but lets face it...this area is all about the winged sprints.

Frankly I don't recall the stands being full with stocks and or winged sprints. Everyone has their own prefence of what they like but when it all comes down only one person will decide and thats the guy who owns the track unless they turn it over to someone else. I heard what came out of his mouth and untill he says different I'm guesing thats the way it'll be. In a perfect dream world we all want the WOO sprints and lates and wich ever class we're with. Me I'm just waiting on a shedule as I think there's room for all.

If you do what you have always done....you will get what you have always got !!! For one you can't have your schedule all over the place like in years past ! I agree it would be a better idea to work with limalands classes if he wants support from this area. Fans support these classes, business supports these classes, and racers support these classes !!! Sounds like another year of no butts in the seats !!! One of three things are going to happen..... 1 the purses will drop to a point track will be taking advantage of the racers ( Its not there fault there is no butts in the seats... its not the show this area supports ) 2... Track will be looking for someone to take over agian in 2012 !!! 3.... CLOSED.... JMO

Well just let us non wanted classes that have been supporting the track know when we're gone so we can move to where we're wanted. Thank you.

Its not about not liking non-wing sprints....I do like them ... they are putting on good shows !!! , BUT... If there is no one there to witness it , then it is not going to last ! as far as beginner classes... yes we do need them in racing , gocart would be a good place to start....and a person would learn alot more about racing in them than in a compact class !! Most racers would agree !!! But it comes down to business sense ! in a perfect world people would just conform to waynesfeilds brand of racing, but it hasn't happen and probably won't ! ALL racer deserve respect for there support to the race track ! As well as Greg for providing it, but I would love to see racing for years to come at waynesfeild, not just 2011 !!!......BUT it is not working !!!
