Anyone know what this race paid to win?? Seems like asphalt promotors traditionally keep quiet what their races pay!!

because this was nascar, people were interested...nothing more, nothing less...they didn't draw for the first show and won't draw for the septemeber show...

the previous "prognostication" has been brought to you by the anti asphalt league "suhoney" president
& to "set the record straight" their fist race DID draw a decent crowd
your wishing it didn't/ doesn't change the gate tally

you know when they peeled the dirt off at first i was pissed off too, but you know something i don't own the track and don't the pavement fans deserve a track to go to ?dirt track racing is not for everyone just like some people don't like the pavement races . more power to them if they want to pay 30 dollars to watch one class and pay 6 dollars for a hamburger and 4 dollars for a hot dog then have at it .they deserve a track to go to and with those prices you should be able to make money . we need america's raceway park open in clearfield so the locals can afford to race. just my opinion.

When it does open then the Street Stock class will have to deal with lap traffic if you racing there, then everyone on race stud will have to deal with your stuiped post about the other drivers are cheating. Because you went a lap down in a heat race and many laps down in the feature. Like you did at Hummingbird when I seen you race there (see I can be a arm chair racer just like you). Maybe you'll get lucky, could be lots of yellow and you'll finish on the lead lap! On another note maybe you should try racing asphalt you look like you are racing on a asphalt track when you go into the corner. You been racing dirt how many year still can't set a car going into the corner? Just my opinion

ROFLMFAO Funny stuff. I like how certain clowns on here say asphalts so boring. Ive been to 25 dirt races this year, and only about 4 of them were what I would consider "good" racing. And these were at Bedford,Hesston, Hagerstown and Winchester, Va. Anyone who thinks the racing at Hummingbird, Marion Center, Thunder Mountain and a few others is better than asphalt needs to get out more. I hope someday Clearfield Speedway returns to any everyweek facility as an asphalt track. When it shut down in 02, they may not have had a lot of cars, but what they did have was quality cars with close racing in most divisions. And thats something in my opinion you dont see much of at the Jefferson/Indians county racetracks. If your into demo derbys on an oval though, thats where its at.

I applaud the Baineys for giving the asphalt another chance. I know a good many of us are working to ensure a great future for asphalt racing in central PA. Everything comes full circle so this means asphalt may just get big again. Ramey

maybe for a weekly show, but a 5000 to win race and then only 20 cars show up?? the place would have been packed on dirt and there would have been a lot more cars...

^^^^^^ I agree. Dirt draws so many more fans. Hell ive seen straight up demo Derbys draw more fans than an asphalt track. Rednecks and hillbillies are gana go to a dirt track long before they go to an asphalt track. Not only that dirt racing was around before asphalt.......... everyone would much rather watch dirt. The asphalt thing wount last long anyway. Fans hate it thats why jennerstown shut down the fans quit going because its BORING

I don't know I remember Scott Bloomquist & Shane Clanton among others racing in the Yankee Doodle on dirt. Those seemed like pretty big races to me. The only guys in that field I heard of were Jimmy Weller & Nathan Russell (because they both ran dirt). Don't care so much to watch a bunch of the old cup guys kids race.

Yeah, and they also paid Bloomer and Clanton just to show up.

they didn't pay bloomer and clanton off when the Outlaws ran there. That race, and all the yankee doodle's Packed that place. whether they paid bloomer or clanton to come in or not they easily made all the money back and then some

You dirt people are unbelieveable...ONE asphalt race takes place and you feel it is you duty to come on here and bash the entire deal, bash the track, bash Bainey's, bash asphalt fans... Is that all you have to do? Let's start bashing the next race right now, let's not wait until the race takes place, let's get a head start on the next one... What you don't seem to be able to get through your thick narrow minded heads is the track IS NOT YOURS! IT BELONGS TO THE BAINEY'S...don't you understand that? They will do what their passion directs them to do, and I think it's great what they are doing, and I will continue to support them...

Thank you racer111, a person with some intelligence. I am a racing fan not just asphalt, dirt also. I dont understand these people on here they must pride them selfs on bashing and putting down other people. If you guys actually went to and supported tracks instead of sitting behind the computer, we would have more tracks to go too.

Yes, it is certainly interesting that dirt fans feel the need to bash all other forms of racing anytime someone mentions them.

An even more interesting thing is that about the only comments they ever post about dirt racing are complaints about the track prep, concessions, seating, restrooms, parking, promoters, drivers, sanctioning bodies and the color of the hot dog wrappers.

It is almost a rarity for someone to actually post a positive comment about the local dirt tracks. The dirt fans themselves are slowly driving a stake into the very heart of the sport and, someday, the the sport may just cease to exist.

BTW: fans do go to see pavement racing as can be seen at Bowman Gray Stadium. Hmmmm and it's right in the middle of the redneck South in Winston-Salem< NC.

It has been said that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could reproduce the works of Shakespear. The internet has certainly disproved that theory!

The car counts at Motordrome and Lake Erie are as good as your favorite tracks like H-bird, Marion Center, Dog Hollow.

Exactly...go South, Northern Rednecks...take in an event at Bowman Gray Stadium or Concord, or Peach State or Braselton...class acts...lots of people??? You better believe it, and I have been told by many people that Lake Erie is getting 5000+ people every week...I don't care if they are giving away tickets or not, they are getting people and those people buy food, and they come back... Go South and you will find asphalt is KING... I recently spent two weeks in Meadville ((work related)) they advertise & promote, everything from buy a ticket get a free burger to give blood and get a free pass...

The racing at clearfield was always good with good car counts and Im not trying to pick a fight, but it is fact that the really big names (Bloomer)got paid to show up at Clearfield.

I like asphalt racing, dirt racing, 4-wheeler racing, barstool racing, lawnmower racing, drag racing and offshore powerboat racing. I like that there is an asphalt track in the area and that the owners are receptive to suggestions and yes, constructive criticism. If you have a complaint it's amazing what a little tact can do for upcoming seasons. I like that on dirt tracks you never know who's gonna win and never know which surface is gonna show up. Who knows, it could be a mid-packer who hits the setup and runs away with it. It could also be dry-slick, a dust bowl, or suck in general. Oh, and there's lots of dirt tracks. Lots and lots. I like on paved tracks watching locals get better and better as their cars get dialed. I like the speed. Drop the nose on a late model at 120 at Clfd and see how your heart makes out. Watch Clate, Cragan and Peles beat the crap out of each other and cross the line in a smoking heap. Watch Eriksen lap the field with his brakes glowing red hot. Often it's the engineering and watching someone decimate the field after making a change. Like Bloomquist does on dirt. I like the renewed friendships the asphalt track opening has brought to the region. I'd bet if it was announced there would be 15 street stocks getting the dust blown off and wrenches a turnin'. Throw in some dirt cars with slicks and you'd have a full field. Want some excitement? Watch a pack of 20 street stocks run Clfd at 95mph AVERAGE. ramey

Correct...the speed that is achieved and maintained on asphalt can't compare to dirt...you know it, you've driven both...my Brother knows it he's driven both... let us asphalt people alone... I have never once come on here and complained about racing at Hummingbird, watching the late models race a lap at a time...I've gone, paid my money and kept my mouth shut...
