...it was just bull how he got fans and a foot in the door with the dirt and then blindsided us with the asphaslt move...you cant tell me that came out of nowhere, thus why when the weather gave them a get out of jail free card they took it...thats what i was sayingsuhoney, I wasn't referring specifically to you but you just reiterated the notion that you should have input on how someone else should spend their money.
If you save enough money and decide to buy a new car, what would you get. A Ford, a Chevy, a Dodge or something else. Since you, and ONLY you, worked for that money would you buy the car you wanted to buy?
Yeah, I understand EXACTLY what you are saying!

agreed. 100% where else around here could you go to a dirt track on any given race that a track has, and see Locals, racing with Lucas Oil guys, UFO guys, ULMS guys, Fastrack guys, and whatever WoO guys showed up. who cares if they paid a couple of them just to show up, look at how many other guys showed up. in my opinion the slogan "next best thing to Eldora" was true. that was an awesome place. sure it got dusty. go to a track that doesn't. they had awesome races. they treated the Street Stock Guys better than any other track and those guys deserve that.where did i say anything about spending their money??? i was referring to more of how they sold all the dirt fans and drivers out and clearly put no effort into because they wanted their precious gay ole asphalt so do not sit there and act like you know what im saying because you don't...

or....we can be disappointed because our favorite place to go watch one hell of a race is pretty well shot...OK, there seems to be several of you who feel they are qualified to tell someone else how they should spend their money.
What's up with that? If you were so intent that this track should be dirt, then perhaps you should have been more intense with efforts to assemble an investor group. Then you could be doing what you want to do with your investment instead of trying to tell someone else what to do with theirs.
Get off of your butts, get a second job, stay out of the bars, stop smoking, get a third job, work hard and save your money then buy your own damn track!
How about detailing your home budget here on Racestud and then everyone can pitch in and tell you where/how to spend your hard earned money!!
Freakin' entitlement generation! Go out and work for your own stuff!

Since everything comes full circle, I vote for a few years of awesome asphalt racing and growth. Let us enjoy the speed for awhile.
Then, maybe four or five years from now, put clay back on it IN THE ORIGINAL HUGE CONFIGURATION and separate the men from the boys.
I totaly agree!

don't act like i'm the only one fella. i do enjoy how you can twist things around, and make it sound like i said something i didn't. and you didn't even do a good job at that. me being disappointed in how someone else spent their money has absolutely nothing to do with it. they can spend their money however they please. i don't know how else to spell it out for you so you can understand but the disappointment comes when me and a boatload of other people have to travel several hours to see our favorite dirt stars. and even at that its not as entertaining as getting to watch the guys you know and watch every single week have their chance to run with the big dogs. so before you get all butthurt over something someone else said, expressing how they feel which apparently is completely against your rules...sit back and think about how it effects other people. because this change to that track, good or bad, has effected alot more people than just you buddy.Wow! You are disappointed in how someone else chose to spend THEIR OWN money! So sad!

And the funny thing is Hummingbird is epitome the of wrecks and spinouts. They should call it BowmanBird!!!!! And btw, if clearfield ever went back to 1/2 mile dirt Ramey, 3/4 of the locals would soil their pants if they ever got a set big enough to go that fast.To all you asphalt fans out there I would like to say sorry
We should not be bashing on asphalt racing we should be promoting it as a matter of fact I am selling tickets to the interstate 80 500 For the cheap price of $30 per ticket. For that low price you can sit and watch cars and trucks go up interstate 80 all day long and guess what, every once and awhile one goes really fast. THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT ANY MORE EXCITING. For all you business men out there for an extra $20 You can go golfing in a green press-teen cowpatty field behind my neighbors house and, just after that you can go for tea and crumpets. As for bowman gray they have to spin the guy in front of them out to pass that's not demo derby is it. once again I apologize

so just how fast do you think awesome asphalt cars are
Well, when I won the Late Model Sportsman Championship there, I ran an avg of 102 mph ((.519 mi) / (18.3 sec) = 102.098361 mi/h) with a 2-bbl carb 355.
Which is approximately 102.098361 mi/h faster than you at your keyboard.
The super lates ran about half a second quicker ( (.519 mi) / (17.8 sec) = 104.966292 mi/h).

I remember in the late 90's, or 00-02, Hidden Valley was off one Saturday night and a few street-pure stocks and rwd 4 cylinders showed up at Clearfield Mouuntain. They went out for hotlaps then came back in because it was too fast for them, loaded there cars up and left. Guess the speed of the asphalt was too much for them. And the funny thing is Hummingbird is epitome the of wrecks and spinouts. They should call it BowmanBird!!!!! And btw, if clearfield ever went back to 1/2 mile dirt Ramey, 3/4 of the locals would soil their pants if they ever got a set big enough to go that fast.
