The track hasn't been sold and will not be sold anytime soon. The property was appraised but that had a different reasoning behind it.

Like them being $25000 behind on their taxes perhaps?

Its true... I saw in the Indiana paper that Dave owed like $14000 and June and Rich owed like $5000 a piece in back taxes. Now i dont know if this was reliable but usually the news paper has to print accurate info.

What this guy probably saw was the lists of back property taxes that get printed in the paper every year. As long as you don't get more than 2 years behind that is no big deal unless you transfer title to the property, in which case the arrearages have to be paid off for the new owner to get clear title. The amounts in this case are relatively small in relation to what the property will likely sell for if and when it is sold, so this arrearage is really no big deal.
