Who cares ford or chevy if u dont like it dont run it!This guy is doing all the leg work and this is what he want CHEVY CRATE MOTORS!I'm toataly in favor of a good starter class I just don't understand how you can say every buddy run a Chevy and now it's cheap... If guys were aloud to run a ford and don't have the ability to build them I would gladly help guys getting started build fords... make a ford crate motor for the same price as a Chevy so every option is open

Seriously, get over it. It isn't going to happen. This has nothing to do with gm vs. Ford. It's about making everything equal and affordable. When you start having to make changes due to weight, horsepower, and things of that nature, there becomes to many gray areas and that is the downfall of many starter, budget classes.I'm toataly in favor of a good starter class I just don't understand how you can say every buddy run a Chevy and now it's cheap... This has nothing to do with brand loyalty. Yes I like my chevys but I'm buying a SUV to get better mileage than my truck and its a Ford. I have owned cords, molars and Toyotas. This class is not biased by brand its just about what will work for the class.I'm all In favor of a cheap starting class... Do u think everybuddy looking to get into the sport are all die hard Chevy fans thow? I know of a few guys that would run if it wasn't for the strictly Chevy rule... Don't have the money to buy a crate Chevy and can build a ford cheaper that's y we run fords

If you don't mind me asking y wouldn't a class running crate Chevy and ford together not work?

I have some serious doubts that you could build a 350 horsepower small block ford that can run for years, with valve spring replacement only, for 3100.00. If you could, who enforces the motor seals and who determines what factory parts numbers are going to be used. This becomes complicated and then becomes too easy for a non factory motor to be a little more equal then the others. Give Rob credit , this is a good idea and needs to be simple and easy to enforce. It hurts me to have a 602 in my 37 ford coupe vintage car but it was a much more cost efficient way to go.

I don't agree with u on cost efficient... My family has been running ford forever and for us it's cheaper to build a ford over buying a Chevy ...

How many divisions of modifieds do they run in the state of New York?
Big block
Open 358
Sportsman
Crate
?
Didn't the sportsman modifieds in New York get phased out to all crate mods?

Tommy your missing the point... this liberal toss off is really trying to make the rediculous point that since HE has a garage full of old ford junk that it would be cheaper for HIM to build a ford out of the junk he has laying around instead of buying a gm crate lol lol lol So basically the rules of the division should be formed around what one random guy has laying around !!! Its hard to even respond to that level of stupidity, hey fella theres already a division where you can use your left over ford junk its called the 358 division not the crate division !!!! I have a clements spec motor under my bench with maybe 70 laps on it so i already own that so by your reasoning should fastrack change their rules to allow me to run that against the 604's because its cheaper for me to bolt that in than to go buy a new 604 ???? Please dont vote in november we dont need any more obama votes !!!I really do not know of Ford having a low cost crate motor.

I'm talking all brand new parts no old stuff if they had a 3100 calmer you could be claimed and have a brand new engine put together for the Nexed week regardless of the make ford Chevy mopar

I watched rick lias at sportsmans and the only way he won a race and finish 2nd. in points, was blocking and running people off the track ! this kid will hurt somebody or himself. guys are afraid of getting beside him, sportsmans will have to do something ! they only get 10 to 12 cars now and if lucky 8 finish. hold a straight line rick and race people clean u will get more respect or black flagged, or worse they will start racin you the way you race them!!!Is that y Rick lias in a very low dollar 14 year old troyer with a homemade 347 ford in it won his first time ever running in the 358 modified class? And finished 2ns in points with it I can guarantee you there's less money in it then u can build a crate car for

Claimer classes dont work, because if you claim someone you get grudge claimed back the next week so no one ever claims anyone. Plus if the claim is 3100 some guys dont mind losing money so they will but a 10k motor for 5 or 6 used and not worry about getting claimed !!! Fastrack never should have allowed the 604 crate motor should have been 602 only and NO rebuilds !! Either brand new factory seals or it doesnt race period !! The fastrack stuff has gotten completely out of hand, they should have required a spec shock, hub, rotor etc etc from the very beginning, now a top flight roller for fastrack is 30 k and thats completely uncalled for and ruins the intent of the class.I'm talking all brand new parts no old stuff if they had a 3100 calmer you could be claimed and have a brand new engine put together for the Nexed week regardless of the make ford Chevy mopar
