Good luck with that one!!!
You'll have a better chance of seeing an Australian V-8 Supercar race at America's Raceway Park than seeing Western Pa promoters working together and setting up the same rules.

Wouldn't it work to their advantage? That way any car from any track can come race at their venue, bolstering their car counts.. Guys that race Friday nights could race Saturdays and Sundays without drama and you wouldn't have the crap of making 'compromise' rules for big races.... like we have going here. Its a win/win situation.

Janney, dont you think the Pure Stock rules should at the VERY LEAST say no Weight Jacks, and no 400 Motors, so we dont have Street Stock guys with 8 inch tires????

purestocks shouldnt have anything bigger than a 358..!!!!

First off you were reading thunder mountain rules not Chili 100 rules . Secondly these are the Chili 100 Rules PS RULES- NO SIDEBOARDS, WINGS, FUEL INJECTION ( 8" ) TIRES ONLY CAN BE ANY MAKE. And lastly this is a end of the year show and with the time limit I had to announce it, this was a good way to do it, the track will be slick when the pures and fwd race , so its anyones race if you are refering to big motors, the little motors will have the most traction is my guess. I have had this race for a while now and you can believe what i say is the truth.

Dingo it will never happen.
Too many track owners/promoters in Western Pa. think their way is the only way. They are also worried if there is a common set of rules for their support divisions they will lose cars and fans. They want to lock their cars into only being able to run their track.
It's not as bad these days but not too long ago if you had a street stock unless it was a your track rules show you didn't dare pull into another Western Pa. track because you were either DQ'd. were not aloud to race, or told not to finish higher than "x" position.
It was really rampant when one Friday night tracks cars went to another Friday nights track to race and more often than not those cars were DQ'd.

This is gonna suck. Thinking about not taking the car.... there will be SS running with what are entry level pure stocks. I don't care if the track is slick.... doubt the true pure's won't have a chance.

i think that was a sarcastic post. a pure stock is a pure stock. why chance getting tore up with that kind of equipment for 300$? if guys have that kind of equipment they'll be running for 1000$ not 300$. and a street stock is a street stock. your not going to see alot of huge motors and ridiculous cars in the street stocks. its gonna be alot of local guys and a few from elsewhere. locals still have the best chance on that track.

If they are the same rules as the chili from prior years, Headers are allowed on pure stocks, last year I ran headers, aluminum intake, and 4 barrel on my purestock for the chili.

I believe in years past if you showed up in a car that has ran at another track as a street-stock she will not let you run the chili race as a pure stock and for another thing the pro stocks at clinton county run 355 engines . man for a lady who is trying to put on a race to raise money for a charity and in the name of a true race fan such as Sue Mathews you guys sure are pouring a lot of bullshit on this whole thing .

Heck, $300 is a regular 20 lap pay for SS's on a normal nite. If a guy that can't win in streets, he can pick up a quick $300 in a lower class.

Snooky , you are missing the point! If you ran your car as a ss at your home track, you cant put 8" tires on that and run with the purestocks! Do you get it now??? I sure hope so because I cant make3 it any plainer than that!

who really cares lol.. its an end of year race. lets just race and enjoy it instead of making it complicated. just cause u have a mod car dont mean ur gonna win. 4 bangers should simply be run what u brung. purestocks shouldnt be aloud anything bigger than a 358.. idk the rules with SS n there aint much rules for lates.. lol everybody wants to build these overpriced cars with huge engines. pricing racing right out of what everyone can afford.. that is the biggest reasoin why car counts have been down. who can afford it especially with the rising price of gas heat bills.. shall i go on? lets just enjoy the fact that we can go to a track and enjoy a night of racing..

BEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE AND I SEE NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED. PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW SOMEONE ELSE WANTS TO RUN THEIR SHOW. I'LL GIVE YA MY TAKE ON THE PURESTOCK DIVISION-- I SEE A POST THAT STATES-- HOW ARE OUR PURESTOCKS SUPPOSED TO COMPETE? HERE IS HOW-- YOU RUN IT!!! OUR PURESTOCKS (ASSUMING YOU ARE REFERRING TO HUMMINGBIRD) HAVEN'T BEEN PURE SINCE ABOUT WEEK 3 OF THE SEASON. PRETTY CLOSE COMPETITION FOR FIRST 3 WEEKS THEN FIND NO TECH AND SEEM THE SHIT HIT THE FAN IN THAT CLASS. JUST BY WALKIN THE LINE UP AREA AND LISTENING YOU CAN TELL ILLEGAL CAMS,CHRIST SAKES YOU COULD SEE ILLEGAL INTAKES AND YES BELIEVE IT OR NOT 4BARREL CARBS. SO TO EMPHASISE THE POINT (OUR) PURESTOCKS SURE ARE NOT PURE. BRING WHAT YA GOT HOPE YA BRING ENUFF BUT ABOVE ALL HAVE FUN N BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

janney is trying to have an end of the year race in appreciation for the local race scene around here....why do so many people need to try to pick it apart? use common sense. like i said a pure stock is a pure stock, street stock is a street stock, fwd is a fwd. not "modified fwd". i wouldn't be surprised if next year she doesn't even have the race around here because of the bad mouthing, second guessing, and all the other bullshit you guys give her over it. janney, thank you for giving us a last chance to race this year. some people appreciate it. especially around here.

It is the same way every year. Each year there are complaints about what classes should run, what the rules should be for those classes, the payout, the track it is being run at, ect. This isn't Janney's first rodeo, if the race wasn't successful, it wouldn't be a annual event. That group bust their humps to put on this event, and I for one, appreciate it. Best wishes for a safe and fun event!
