still on 8 inch tires the only track to use them. If we should have to run them than the open shows should be on them.

Question for ANY track, anywhere...... Why can you not run a convertible? I would have understood that one back in the steel body days (which should still be in effect everywhere, but only asphalt tracks enforce that) but what is an aluminum roof going to do to save you? Not a big deal, just wondering. Tires, I just wish all tracks would come up with a common tire, whether it would be big or small.

Kudos to the shock claim on the 2bbl's. That one should be in effect in ALL divisions everywhere!

I think you're reading it wrong a 5.83 is the lowest gear you can run You can run a higher ratio such as a 5.14. That's how I read it.

WELL if you walked into Summit & asked for the lowest gear available for a 9" Ford rear, they'll most likely tell you they can get you a 250. In fact, I have 1 in my garage. Gears go by number, higher number,,,higher RPM,,,lower number lower RPM. If you want to limit the RPM's that's kinda a funny way of sayin it. But,,,,,WHATEVER!

Can't run a 415 anyway. Read the rules. I think they mean lower gear ratio, higher number than 5.83. Like 6.0, 6.14, etc.

Not sure about this Dick! But every automotive application I have been around a "LOWER GEAR" was actually the one with the higher numerical ratio.

IE: Lower gears are actually numerically higher numbers. Higher gears are actually numerically lower numbers. That's a common mistake people have that lower is low numbers and high is higher numbers.

15. Rear Axle Gear Ratio – The Lowest ratio will be 5:83 to 1. The lowest gear ratio you can run is a 5:83. You can run a 5:14, 5:29, 5:43 etc. You can't run a 5:91, 6:05, etc.

They make the stock rules so that they only have a hand full of cars. They dont want cars from other tracks to come. But they open the rules for opens and handycap the ones that run there all year. What a joke. The teck guy needs to get his head out of his A$$ and see what stockcar are, not what they where. Time to get out of the past, you are killing the sport.

You are right, thats the way they are sold.

I have a real good idea you should maybe take a second look at the rules. The teching has finally become "under control" the last three years. How can you say (read the rules) that they dont want any cars from other tracks ? Open engine rule with a 2bbl carb pretty much sums it up. How are the regulars handcapped ? They have alined the weights with the open weight rules, again, read the rules. As far as the tires and wheels. Do you want to pay 150.00 a tire and 145.00 for a beadlock ? I dont, cheaper on 8 inch stuff 110.00 a tire and 125 for beadlocks. Dont give me this crap, o i can get tires off the local late model guy, because not everyone can do that and there are only so many used tires around. As for the car counts. Have you actually looked because sharon had the second best average of the entire area. Second to only lernerville. So I guess your argument doesnt hold alot of water with many people.
Now I remember why I have not been on this site for 5 months.

Bring back the RC4's for E-mods and stocks, EVERYWHERE! Now there is a savings to everyone! That will never happen though.

Joe, I stand by what I said,,,,lower number,,,lower RPM, Higher number Higher RPM. It's vague at best. In Reference to the rules,,, it could have been more specific. I.E.,,
No rear gears higher than a 5.83 numerically are legal. or
The highest gear legal is a 5.83. or
Don't get caught with your 5.91, or 6.00, or 6.20, or 6.33, or 6.50 gears in there, or you're
ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a 7.00 or 7.33 gets you kicked out for life!!!

Yeah,,,that'll happen,,,,,,,,lol. Everybody's legal in that class anyhow,,,,,no problem!
