Bigger tires last longer. Not everyone can buy new 8" tires all the time. So let the racer decide what they can run. Run them both.

I dont know bud, I have to say 8 inch tires last longer on my car. Ran the same two right fronts all year. Your going to call out the tech guy because of your BIG beef with the tire rule, really.. You want to run open rules all year ? If so just look at where that got tri city, and is now getting raceway 7 with 10 cars on a good night and Pms with there 7 cars. I think sharon should leave things alone, stay the coarse. 17 car average is pretty damn good these days. I guess if some want more fancy stuff on the stock cars they should go late model racing because after all the stock cars are close enough to late models now. No need to get any closer in my opinion.

jmo....run 8" tires....steel bodies....STOCK ROOFS...not flat but rounded and make them LOOK like a car...open interior and no flat sides... many other tracks have cars which look "stock" and you can tell what body it is from the nose up to the rear......why cant our tracks do this?????? Jim

jim its easier and cheaper to make your own bodies. good luck finding stock bodies that are in decent shape if there are any left.

Joe, I understand completely about the easy part of making your own body, BUT, I don't want to hear about how hard it is to get body panels. Racedogg will back me up on this one....... go to Lake County some night. All steel bodies there, and a bunch of them! They are available online and they can be found. However that doesn't matter anymore, the cat is out of the bag on dirt. So how about this novel idea............ a basic template to make sure these cars look like SOMETHING! Jeez, what would you call Rusty Wheeler's car, other than one of the UGLIEST cars ever to enter a dirt track. Yep, fans can relate to that! I could name a lot more but I won't. That one sets the standard on things that could be changed. I really feel the MD3 noses should go also, in that some of these guys have no clue where their front end is. There are certainly at least 2 cars at Sharon that continually use that nose as a flying wedge turning all who get in their way. And about the tires............. RC4's, emod and stock!

  • Interests:RACING, not nascar though. But I live & breathe stock car racing. Not so much Sprints, or emods. Even though I own a 2bbl emod, I'm still not thrilled with returning to dirt, after a 15 year absence. We'll see how things go this year coming up, 2012. Maybe it'll grow on me, again.

Back when cars were dangerous and sex was safe. We would get our final gear ratio by doing a thing called math. Run 3rd. gear in a 4 speed , run 2nd in a 3spd and find that ratio. Then go look for rear gear to come up lets say to the 6.07 , Then run a lincoln locker.. What do you mean when you say a 3/4" pipe plug? Hope it's over the ring gear to check for a gear ratio. Now wait.... maybe it should be over to check for a gold trac or some traction trick. The 5.83 final should state achieved by any combination. I'm gonna LOL it also.

now ur gettin it long as we gotta keep buyin over priced tires for 200.00 if u win thats all that counts oh ya LOL

You say that big tires droped the car count at other tracks get real. When sharon puts on an open the the big tires are on just about every car. The money isn't in the tires that make the cars faster, and you know it.

So that just makes my point,the size of the tire dont matter then let them run both. How many other tracks run 8" tires? So if a person from any other track want to come to sharon they have to get 8" tires. So they just stay at the track they they are runnig at. My point in this matter is get on the same page.

not at all and with a smile. bigger tires warrant bigger motors wich in turn warrant more money wich results in less people that can afford it results in less cars. IE sharon , mercer . raceway 7

Thats why we have motor rules. People are going to put in the motors as much money as they can any ways. Out of all the things that people spend money on to race, you are telling me tires is going to keep the coast down. I dont think so.
