If silva gets overeem on the ground he has a chance to grind out a decision , on his feet he gets killed . I hate Frankie Edgar I hope aldo runs through him but he definately has a chance at a decision if it goes 5 rounds , I'm really excited to see Fitch fight Maia to see if Maia can go anything off his back ... First card in a while I was excited aboutWho ya got tonight legend? I see overeem making quick work of silva en route to his title shot. Main event should be good fight im hoping also

Rashad is not an elite fighter and he will never be. Overeem would be first round ko'd by JDS or Cain and as impressive as Maia handled Fitch GSP would jut stay standing the whole time for a lop sided 50-45Overeem has never had a chin. It was only a matter of time before somebody connected and put him to sleep. Shit, Lesnar probably watched that fight and thought to himself "...all I had to do was punch him in the face, damn".
Maia at 70 is beast mode. Plus it was awesome to see Fitch get Fitch'd.
Rashad Evans looked like garbage. I don't understand what he was thinking. He's one of the better wrestlers in mma, and he decided to box with a guy known for his boxing. He should have won that fight with ease and went with the worst strategy in history. If he were still at Jacksons, there would have been a much different strategy and it would have resembled his early, super boring fights. I don't really know here he goes from here.
Frankie Edgar is tough as nails. He ate some nasty, nasty shots and kept on coming. I'd like to see him fight Dustin Poirier next. I think that would be a really fun fight.
Jose Aldo is looking a little more human every fight. Granted, his opponents are getting better and better, but still I can see him actually losing in his next few fights. If the rumors about Pettis come true, it's very dangerous fight for Jose.

Rashad is a tricky one, because when he's on, he's on and he's a tough, tough fight for anybody, but when his head isn't on right, he's a mess. He's got all the tools to be an elite fighter, but I don't know that his mental makeup is strong enough. He's a great talker, maybe it's time for him to retire and become a broadcaster for the UFC or something.
Overeem is far from an elite fighter too. Anybody who watched his Pride fights would have known it was only a matter of time before somebody whooped that ass. He's never had a chin and his cardio has always sucked. He also starts looking for a way out as soon as somebody checks his chin.
I think Maia at 70 presents some issues for GSP. actually. He's far more dangerous on the ground than anybody else GSP has ever faced and isn't afraid to try to drag every fight there. I see him staying in GSP's face and trying to annoy him into making a mistake. It's unlikely to work for more than a round or two, but I do think he's got a much better shot at beating GSP then, say, Nick Diaz.

I totally agree. I think GSP goes out and kickboxes him, using a similar strategy to Carlos Condit. Except GSP is a much better kickboxer than Condit and it won't be a close fight.

Gsp may actually get a finish in the Diaz fight. He's gonna swarm Diaz and pound him. And I think Evans has lost his drive. Was contemplating retirement after jones fight. Been off darn near a year and looked pathetic at best last night. All he had to do last night was win and he was going to be handed a shot at silva. Granted he wouldn win but if that didn't get him up for the fight what will?? Prelim fights were good. Give Tyrone woodle a lil moretime and may be something in the welterweight class.I totally agree. I think GSP goes out and kickboxes him, using a similar strategy to Carlos Condit. And UFC is coming out with their own fighter rankings I believe next week. Rankings have always been pretty much bs but at least w the UFC in charge of the rankings it may be a little more accurate... Or may be totally biased by what rankings will make money fights. Guess that remains to be seen....

If Rashad keeps fighting, I look for him to move down to 85 and rematch Bisping. It's really the only fight they can hype for him at this point. But I personally think he retires and goes into media work. He'd be good at it, I think.
Tyron Woodley is pretty much a welterweight version of Rashad Evans. Very athletic, awesome wrestling, decent boxing.
The UFC's ranking still won't mean anything as far as making fights, Dana has already said as much basically. Because in a lot of cases, even though a dude loses to the champ, he's still going to be number 2 in the division. For instance, up until last night, Rashad Evans was probably the number two 205er in the UFC, even though he got smoked by Jones. Even if there were rankings, he's not getting the shot. Frankie Edgar lost to Aldo last night, but based on resume alone, he's probably number two in the UFC at 45. I'd say Condit is number two at 70.

I just meant with the UFC overseeing rankings may be a little more accurate with them ranking their own fighters. Outside agencies rank them now. And there's really no set rankings like college football has the coaches poll. I didn't mean that the number 2 guy would get the title shot every time. Just like to see where the actual employer values their workers at. The most deserving should get the title shot not whoever is ranked no2. Like welterweight is perfect example. Condit is solidly no1 or no2 contender yet he just lost to gsp so other guys will get the chance even tho condit remains ranked at the top. Hendricks supposedly ranked around 4-5 depending on what rankings you look at. But IMO he should be the one fighting for the title next regardless of his supposed rank cuz he earned it. But in the end $$$$$$$$$ to be made is what really boils down to making the fights..
The rankings are going to be voted on by a group of media members, so it will still be voted on by outside agencies.
I like the idea a lot actually, and it'll make for interesting eliminator fights, but it's not perfect. I suppose nothing will be perfect though, at least this is a step in the right direction.
As far as Hendricks, yeah, he's probably most deserving at this point. I think he should beat Ellenberger though, and he'll probably get his shot. Maia has made things real interesting in the division too. I'd like to see him fight the Condit/McDonald winner for the shot after Hendricks.
Actually, despite GSP's dominance, I think 70 is probably the most interesting division in the UFC currently.

Ah ok got ya. From what I read and heard it sounded like the UFC had a committe to do the rankings. So yeah they really won't be any more viable. So who will fight Cain Velasquez now in your opinion??Cain said jds needs to fight again before a rematch because he had to. They were talking about Barnett last night but I disagree with that matchup. Only option in my head would be jds vs Bigfoot and the winner gets Cain. Seeing how he beat them both badly not a bad argument. Ah hell give big country a chance!!! Lol gotta love Roy Nelson even tho he is kind of a douche sometimesThe rankings are going to be voted on by a group of media members, so it will still be voted on by outside agencies.
