Jon you realize there were only 2 more late models to take the green in the feature last week than Cadets right? And last night my car, 69X and 28S were coming (at least) so it wouldn't have shocked me to have close to 20 cadets last night. Some more were coming as a tune up for my Dads race.

8 cadets is 8 cadets reguardless of how many super lates were there. You named 3 additional cars that would have came making 11 cadets ... For an increased pit admission ??? Your not going to win that argument ...

There were 11 last week, plus the 3 I mentioned, plus one more Slade brother gets me to 15. Plus a few guys coming down for my Dads race and that gets me close to 20, yes. I pay the extra money for all the late model and Rush specials so why shouldn't those guys pay for Cadets? Last year the Red Miley Rumble only got 30 cars for $5,300 to win so how is 20 cars for $700 to win a joke?

The guys running support divisions (aka budget racers) never once complain about paying higher pit fees at big late model and sprint shows. Now the late model guys (aka big money racers.... Especially professionals like the legend) whine because they don't have an extra $5 in their pocket? If 5 bucks is an issue, you picked the wrong hobby! The laboons did a hell of a job getting cars to the track last year on real short notice. This years laboon race should be another great one. No problem with getting some guys to come down and get some laps on that track.

I guess ppms should just do away with all the other divisions and just race late models! That ought to fill the stands and the pits right?

The minuscule amount of money they make if any comes from the back gate ... That's why there's 3 divisions of stock cars ....

$30 is already a steep admission price compared to other tracks. At least at lernerville your dirt car membership gets you some money off your pit admission. I'm not complaining about spending $5 more, I'm complaining about supporting another divisions special. This is the kind of stuff that drives people away from a track when every other week is a special. We usually bring 4 guys to the track with us, if I decide not to race there this weekend then PPMS just lost $140 instead of gaining an extra $20 for this special.

Ya your right, we were too high by half inch. They gave us a week to fix it but its all good now, would have hated to have to break out the hammer to smash er down. Heck we probably got the heaviest stock car out there weighing in at over 3200 lbs but im sure that deck height is why we won the race...lmao.

Thanks for the concern.
Bob

I think that even if they said 500 likes on Facebook would get the cadets a 10,000 to win race, they'd fall at least 250 votes short, and that's not at all a shot at the cadets rather just another example of the head scratching moves made by the PPMS management team. I would hope that this is merely a small scale experiment to see what impact using social media has and trying to drive more traffic to the PPMS page. So far the experiment seems to be an enormous failure and that would be that, but with the way the current team at PPMS seems to prefer using unconventional methods of getting people to the track that usually don't work, rather than using plain old methods that made PPMS THE track throughout the 80s and most of the 90s when the stands were full. Despite this collective yawn from the casual fan that Matt has such a boner for, and the off putting of the fan/racer that actually does support them, I can easily see the management team dicking with the Facebook experiments like this all season. But hey, they're competing with Pirates and the Penguins for the casual fan, so all of the fans who enjoy racing so much that we take to interacting with each other here on Racestud, those opinions don't really matter.
