They just sent a message that they are closing their doors effective immediately due to economy.

From Dog Hollow's website:I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, the fans, the drivers, and employees, for your dedication throughout the years. Due to the economy, I understand that things are difficult and unfortunately dirt track racing in rural PA is losing its place on the list of things to do. Unfortunately this season has seen a slow economy met with a decline in attendance and drivers. It is with deep regrets that I am closing the doors effective immediately. Thank You James Michny THANK YOU JIM FOR MORE THAN 15 YEARS OF RACING IN CAMBRIA COUNTY!!!

Not tryinltg to be an ass cause it is sad to see any local track close its doors but the slow economy sure hasn't affected Marion Centers attendance. So its not the economy or a lack of interest in racing by the people in the area.

Feel bad for the crate & racesaver guys who race there. 7 & Mckean aren't all that close on a Saturday, and the 305 guys are looking at towing way to the east or switching over to run with the western pa guys at mercer & sportsmans.

You guys can say what you want about this but Jim Michny is one of the nicest people I have personally ever met. I first met Jim when I had a surprise Late Model Ride Along for my birthday, he didn't charge us anything because "the smile on my face was enough payment for him". You honestly don't know how much it means to a kid with CP to feel the rush you get inside of a racecar. It was one of the best experiences I may ever have. Not to mention in 2010 when he gave me the "job" of posting the results for him here on racestud, letting me in for free and also a free hot dog and a pop. How many other tracks would have done this? I just want to thank Jim and Sharon for all of the good memories and hopefully we can all race there again someday. Sincerely, Jake Valasek

The Racesaver guys have always been welcome to run at Mercer. If they have a valid Racesaver sealed engine they can run Mercer.

Jeff has reached out to the 305 sprints and they do not seem interested in running at AMP on a regular basis. He wishes the guys the best and hopes that they can find a home.He respects the racesaver deal and hopes that they have success in the future.

Marion Center is getting a lot of cars, but their stands have been bleak lately. http://www.flickr.co...way/8955074972/

The price of fuel and everything else is taking its toll.

Bummer, the PA Vintage Modifieds had a race at Dog Hollow for August... will have to look at alternatives now. Personally, I loved the look of the place and was looking forward to racing there this year. I hope at some stage, Jim finds the resources to reopen. Dingo

no care ever....wasn't there just people on here when someone mentioned the rumors that they were closing that were swearing up and down they would never close...yeah way to just say hey were closing best of luck...they should have let it be known then to give the racers some time to find other options instead of just playing it off...

I grew up going to the races in central pa but only made it one time to dog hollow and I really enjoyed it even if I did get dq'ed for a cold air intake. Hope they reopen in the near future

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
