What were/are the payouts in Super late, Crate, Pure stock at Dog Hollow and Marion Center?Dog Hollow has been a back gate track for years! I doubt there are more than 4-5 hundred in the stands any night! And some of those people count out thier change to get in! Thus why he put in a credit card machine! Poor Rural Area! Look at the housing on the way in! ! But when you are a back gate track ..... you run the risk of other competition...or a higher payout... doing you in! I think Jim fell victim to both of those! With the re-opening of AMP and the raised payout at Marioncenter...that was all she wrote! Jim went from 120 cars a night to 80! Roughly 150 people in the pits and 100 people in the stands! Or about a $4,000.00 loss a night! There went the profit and some of the payout money! No sence running a business that is losing! But I do think a promoter has a life span as well! And I think thats ten years Max! After then to many people are mad for one reason or another! I hope someone buys or leases the track! Its a nice facility. And puts on some good shows! But whoever takes it over is going to revamp the entire operation! Good Food...Good restrooms...Good surface...Good payout! Or don't bother! I have said from the begining that Jim never understood racing! Its a simple formula! You pay the money...and get the good cars that the fans want to come see! And they do! Not.....I'll pay the money if the cars show up! I guess its only us old guys that care what it pays! But I come from the era where the track payed the better cars to show up! "Deal Money" I can guarentee you back in the day the better drivers never entered the pits inless there was an envelope for them! But promotors back then understood the fans came to see the stars! But that was yesterday! But today....You can't expect to get a good field of cars when more than half of your feature payout is $100.00! And you don't pay anything for heats????Can't take what has become a $100,000.00 car to the races for $100.00 If Jim would of matched or bettered Marioncenters payout....he would have the business and they wouldn't! And they don't have a fabulous payouit either! But they were smart enough to know with AMP opening..they were going to have to pay a little better or they weren't getting the cars! And when the Economy is as bad as it is...every dollar makes the difference! Plus there is a lot of other competition for the business today as well(Non Racing). Now in this area in the last 15 years we have lost Windber....Challenger....Ebensburg.....Latrobe.....Jenerstown......Thunder Moutain....Dog-Hollow....Thunder Valley....And allmost lost Motordrome again! Sure hope something changes soon! Thanks for the memories Jim!

Marion center has their payouts listed on the website. D/h was comparable. I believe the lack of supers can also be attributed to the rise of the crates in the area as well. Can run a late model type car for less expensive engine I can understand the choice naturally. Don't agree with mc being a back gate track myself. Lot of good racing and cars in those support divisions as with any track. Most ppl only look at payouts for the winner but that can be skewed as well.I ppersonally Don t care if its 1k to win if 5th only pays $50. A good payouts on the back end and not top heavy is much better imo.I applaud at hesston for trying this formula for upcoming races and now I will definitely try to make it there for the next show especially knowing even if I don't have the best car I won't lose my ass trying

Don't know all of ther payout! but I think like 1200.00 to win.....700.00 for second....500.00 for third But the problem is its $150.00 for tenth...$125.00 for eleventh....and $100.00 fronm twelth down ! Marion was the same till they raised it $25.00 a spot and they also pay for heats which helps! Only one car can win! I don't think the to win needs to be more than $1000.00 But Tenth still needs to be atleast $250.00 and atleast $150.00 to start! It takes $700.00 to leave the garage with a Super Late! if you can't have a chance of comming home with half of that back....you won't be racing long! In less your a Multi Millionare! Most teams spent $100.00 in fuel in the rig to get there! Another hundred in pit entrance..... another hundred in racefuel....another hundred (if on a deal) on one tire a night......another $200.00 to use the engine that night....And another hundred on Misc truck and trailer expense....and ahould have another Misc race car parts! You are never makeing money racing! No one does! But you have to be able to get some expenses back! And $100.00 from 12th down isn't much of an incentive to race there! The first time I raced Dog Hollow in 1998...I finished sixth! Sent my girl to the payout window and she came back with $140.00! I ask her where she hid the rest of the money????? I think sixth there today was only like $240.00! IfI am not mistaken! Dog was $100.00 a spot less than TVR's payout from second down!
