Amen brother....other tracks in the area are doing just fine, marion center ring a bell?I am amazed ANYTIME a business goes under, the blame never gets placed within...no one ever takes responsibility. I'm not picking on Dog Hollow here, but this type of person would make a great politician. No one takes responsibility anymore unless of course something is doing good. It's not the damn economy, it's not the damn car counts-it's that customers choose to do something else, and cars go elsewhere. Quit blaming peopl and take responsibility for your own actions. These are not the days when shit is just handed to you anymore like you expect-nice guy or not-business stops for no one, and doesn't care who you are. Sometimes it's just because your competition is doing it better.

i agree ive been a long time supporter of D.H but the reason we left is mainly because of the lack of teching and the inconsistancy of the calls ,,after being wrecked two weeks in a row and nobody being penalized i could not see fighting the battle anymore.also our thirty plus fans could not even get a warm hot dog at the stand ,whats it take to heat a hot dog.then ask her for a warm one and she bites your head off .thats just a few things, also i really didnt like buying tires every week to run up frontAmen brother....other tracks in the area are doing just fine, marion center ring a bell?

As far as" teching" goes, why didn't you file an official protest with Fastrak?i agree ive been a long time supporter of D.H but the reason we left is mainly because of the lack of teching and the inconsistancy of the calls ,,after being wrecked two weeks in a row and nobody being penalized i could not see fighting the battle anymore.also our thirty plus fans could not even get a warm hot dog at the stand ,whats it take to heat a hot dog.then ask her for a warm one and she bites your head off .thats just a few things, also i really didnt like buying tires every week to run up front

That's it, it was the food. If we could strike up a deal with the two local KFC's that just closed their doors, we could be at The Dog eating chicken pot pie!like i said before i liked dog hollow and i even tried to race there once but ...it is awful hard for anyone working on a Friday to come home after a hard days work and load everything up and then drive 45 miles of bad road ( from where we come from) to race MAYBE he should have tried a Sunday show instead to see if he could make that work , i know that when we went to the Connor Bobik ( sorry for the spelling ) race the place was packed now maybe instead of throwing in the towel run a Sunday show with sprint cars , late models , street stocks and pure stocks or front wheel drive 4 cylinders then if it don't work throw in the towel you might get some cars that regularly run Lernerville if you run a Hesston type rule on your stocks . it would surprise me if someone doesn't try to do something with this place .oh and i agree with the cold food comment i know the hamburgers tasted terrible.

Feel the love. Can't say I'm suprised after two years of sunny day rainouts and too hot to race in July cancellations. If your fanbase can't trust you as a owner/promoter to do a good job, they won't trust you enough to support you weekly, and I think that was the case here. Say all you want about his kindness, but Jim Michny did that place no favors.

Where are you all going now?Maybe someone should take a survey and ask how many drivers got screwed by one of there bad calls and when asked about it the d1ck head on the raceiever told them if they could take there car and go elseware. Well I and two others I know, did just that at 20 fans and crew members each it adds up pretty fast.

Dog Hollow has been a back gate track for years! I doubt there are more than 4-5 hundred in the stands any night! And some of those people count out thier change to get in! Thus why he put in a credit card machine! Poor Rural Area! Look at the housing on the way in! ! But when you are a back gate track ..... you run the risk of other competition...or a higher payout... doing you in! I think Jim fell victim to both of those! With the re-opening of AMP and the raised payout at Marioncenter...that was all she wrote! Jim went from 120 cars a night to 80! Roughly 150 people in the pits and 100 people in the stands! Or about a $4,000.00 loss a night! There went the profit and some of the payout money! No sence running a business that is losing! But I do think a promoter has a life span as well! And I think thats ten years Max! After then to many people are mad for one reason or another! I hope someone buys or leases the track! Its a nice facility. And puts on some good shows! But whoever takes it over is going to revamp the entire operation! Good Food...Good restrooms...Good surface...Good payout! Or don't bother! I have said from the begining that Jim never understood racing! Its a simple formula! You pay the money...and get the good cars that the fans want to come see! And they do! Not.....I'll pay the money if the cars show up! I guess its only us old guys that care what it pays! But I come from the era where the track payed the better cars to show up! "Deal Money" I can guarentee you back in the day the better drivers never entered the pits inless there was an envelope for them! But promotors back then understood the fans came to see the stars! But that was yesterday! But today....You can't expect to get a good field of cars when more than half of your feature payout is $100.00! And you don't pay anything for heats????Can't take what has become a $100,000.00 car to the races for $100.00 If Jim would of matched or bettered Marioncenters payout....he would have the business and they wouldn't! And they don't have a fabulous payouit either! But they were smart enough to know with AMP opening..they were going to have to pay a little better or they weren't getting the cars! And when the Economy is as bad as it is...every dollar makes the difference! Plus there is a lot of other competition for the business today as well(Non Racing). Now in this area in the last 15 years we have lost Windber....Challenger....Ebensburg.....Latrobe.....Jenerstown......Thunder Moutain....Dog-Hollow....Thunder Valley....And allmost lost Motordrome again! Sure hope something changes soon! Thanks for the memories Jim!
