Bedford is getting good car counts with their "antiquated" rules. Other local "whore rule" tracks have already cancelled all of their races until September.

It would be stupid to go with Bedfords rules and Alienate all of the Marion Center, Amp, Path Valley, Hill Valley, Hummingbird.. 'guess there are a few whore tracks out there still running, huh.' ... The best bet would be to go with a Hesston type rule that uses weight classes to even the playing field for the local tracks cars since nobody can work together and make a standard rule for the tracks in the area. Bedfords car count success is also due in part that Padulas other track with the same rules (TVR) closed down and everybody that built to for tvr that never cared about bedford before then had nowhere else to run. Success by attrition. Whatever works I guess. If I had to choose, I think I would go with the larger market of cars. Again, Just my opinion. Not gospel.

Bottom line is SS's and PS's are basically vintage racing...... When was last time a Monte Carlo RWD was produced?

Not much stock left on a ss anymore other than the front clip. Pure stocks have a lot more older parts and they are getting harder to find or are more expensive to replace then aftermarket items. Some common sense need to be looked at for both classes

I went up th other day and walked around. Other than the track doesn't seem like a whole lot else would need to be done. Bleachers and grounds are already taken care of. Not sure about the lighting but doesnt look to be too bad of shape

Thats just about how I remember it 18 years ago! The grass on the track is agood thing! Keeps it from eroding! Thats just about how Latrobe looks as well! Sugestion...Maybe these guys should contact Glenn Ray of Tyrone Pa, G&R Demoltion and Excavating! He and his brother Sam used to race there! Glenn seems to be an all around good guy, and friend of racing..... helping out Hesston and Bedford speedways with improvements and Bike givaways for kids! I would be willing to be bet he would lend some help! Sure would be neat to see it re-open with a tribute race to Alby Lamomica... a man that gave all he had to make the place successful!

Correct....From 1994-1999 Haus drove for Ed Powell And yes he did win a Starts race at Williams grove in powells car! In 2000 he replaced Carl Billett in the Rob Mapes Beach Creek Racing #33. In my last post I couldn't remember the name of one of Sam Rays drivers! That driver was Ray Kable.

I didn't miss a STARS show at the Grove!!
If it wasn't Haus it was Stuhler in the Speedy Hayes #44 spanking the STARS boys at Williams Grove.

Babyjesusracing, I am agreeing with you, bud. my 'whore track' comment was sarcasm about a previous comment someone posted that the 'whore tracks' all closed... I am assuming they were referring to dog hollow and that wasnt the issue there. I think it would be suicide to take on bedfords rules and maybe in hopes to get all 12 of their street stocks when there are a half dozen tracks that are just as close running a similar, more progressive rule, and pulling at minimum of the same field size if not twice as many cars.. Thats not putting down any track or their rules, it is simple common sense.
