Well there may be a car with a triple disc but they have cked for 4brrls and headers. Even went so far as to make guys take off aftermarket cast iron manifolds.

Well I usually don't reply on here but when it comes to teching car at the bird they have done zero for a long time, they keep letting cars run with illegal parts they will kill the car count it happened in the rwd 4cyl class and now its happening in the pure stock class but if rules apply to one car they should apply to them all,as for hummingbird I do believe Louie waited to long to make mgnt changes, resinger and a few others let things go to far to be saved,I just hope Louie doesn't put a politican in charge they lie to everyone now can't imagine what that would be like.its funny I watched them look at quite a few cars and said they had illegal parts and said to have it fixed in one week but there is only one car that never gets looked at iI wonder why,,same car that resinger stands beside every week..hopefully the track is still standing after resinger is done.....

I agree with a lot of these points. Curious though, which car (that still runs there) have they not looked at? I've seen, or at least heard of, all the competitive cars being checked numerous times. Nothing extensive, but at least a visual suspension and drivetrain check. Some were told to change some things. They either changed their cars or changed tracks.

Wow !!! Bad mouth Hummingbird again !!! Are you getting paid to do that ?? 714d you are right, change there cars or change tracks !! Not teching cars ??? Wasn't it last year people were complaining because the tech man wasn't looking at anything ??? H B has a new tech man. think the old one is at another track!! I don't know, I don't care.. Couple weeks ago I was talking to an old friend of mine who brought his sons car up to race. A pure stock at MCS. Techman looked. Sir you have a four barrel carb you'll have to run S S. My friend; ok that's fair !!! Could change the carb to a two barrel and run pure stock next week!! Why blame Dave??? If you had to do half the stuff he does you wouldn't be able to handle it!! Believe it or not he does a lot of stuff you don't know about on his own free time. You want his job ??? Lou isn't making mgnt changes! Dave is leaving on his own. I for one will miss him!!

You are right with Dave doing to much stuff,he wouldn't have to be involved with all that stuff if he could trust the other people working there like you,,,,I never seen a track promoter have to make a decision that happened on the track, because you always never seem to see what happened you were always looking a different way,,,trust me you are not the only one he has to cover for,,,,but good luck you running out of tracks that you can flag for....

He's not bad mouthing the track Bob, he's simply stating facts of which most if not all of them are very true. The have their favorites and cater to some people and screw others week after week. But all tracks have favorites. Like the old saying goes "it's not who you know it's who you blow". As far as teaching goes, teching is only as good as the tech man. There are ways around everything and if your tech guy isn't smart enough to catch it, then you get away with it so be it. It's a shame because hummingbird has good exciting racing and the track surface is usually good. Dave going may be a good thing or a bad thing. He would only listen to what you had to say of he liked you that's for sure. A PROGRAM DIRECTOR shouldn't be wearing a headset let alone making calls on the track. I myself saw him standing with his back turned and made a call on the track when he wasn't even watching the race. I raced there for 9 years I enjoyed the track, but I think we may see the end of hummingbird in the near future. You can't keep the same payouts for years and think people are gonna keep coming back. The cut a class that money should of even put into the other purses not into their pockets.

Sorry to hear about Dave leaving. Its my opinion that something has to change over there to bring in more cars and fans, I don't know why they are so afraid to run some specials, look at the standing room only crowd at amp last Sun. I sure hope they get it together before its too late..

My response to “big-chassis”… Please enlighten us as to what car I stand beside every week. Since I guess you’re saying that I have told the tech man not to look at that car, it would be nice to know who you’re referring to. Because I have no idea who it might be or even what class you’re talking about. As for the comment that I don’t trust the other people working there – NOT TRUE! I don’t “cover” for anybody. The officials have their jobs to do, and I rely on them to do it.

My response to “outlaw71”… Where do I start? I know you don’t like me, but get real. If I was out to get you and didn’t want you to win, do you think you’d have STILL been able to win a championship? Whether YOU THINK we do things fairly or not, WE DO. I know I won’t convince you otherwise. But saying we have favorites is an outright lie. Face it, every racer that has a call go against them thinks that most of the time the track is wrong. You said you personally witnessed me making a call when I had my back turned to what happened on the track. Not sure what you’re referring to there, because BOB makes the calls. (See my comment to big-chassis above.) I don’t overrule the flagman or tell him he has to make a call any certain way. Oh, by the way, here’s how it works… Other officials TELL Bob what they saw. HE makes the call. Sometimes it may come out like they are saying what should happen, but THE FLAGMAN has the final say and can go along with what someone else says or do things differently. Now, will I only listen to someone if I “like” them? No. But if someone is yelling, screaming, and just plain wants to vent by hollering at me… No, I don’t have the time of day for that person. As I’ve said many times at the track, nothing good is going to come of that conversation so I will simply walk away. Some people should be glad I do that. In regards to the statement “A track promoter shouldn’t be wearing a headset let alone making calls on the track”… First, I am not a track promoter. You raced there for 9 years and don’t even know what I do? I am the Program Director. I coordinate things amongst the other track officials. As I already stated, I do NOT overrule calls made. If I have to make a decision other than what they can do, I can and will do so. But I have never once changed a decision made by the flagman. Period. And, finally, as for cutting a class and pocketing the money… The class that was eliminated was bringing an average of 10 cars a night. It paid $175 to win. When the class went away, so did the people coming into the pits with those cars, and all the TONS of family and friends everyone wants us to think they have in the stands just to watch THEM. So how much money do you think is left to spread around? Plain and simple, the class was dying, and we didn’t see it being a viable option to contribute to the show down the road. It had nothing to do with saving/pocketing money. Any further discussion… I’d suggest you have it with Louie.

Speaking of Louie… It’s HIS track. He doesn’t want to run huge specials, pay big purses, or attract massive crowds. With all that comes bigger headaches. Louie is not a young guy looking to deal with any of that. He wants to have a track where local guys can race weekly, have a good time, and the fans can see a good show and make some memories. If that’s not what some of YOU think he should be doing, well that’s your opinion. There are many other tracks you can buy or lease and show him how it’s done. For that matter, for those of you who think you can do a better job at Hummingbird than I have done. Next year you have your chance. Yep, I did announce at the beginning of this season that this would be my last year. So here’s your opportunity to step up and see what you can do.

Whatever Dave you always have an excuse for everything. You should not be wearing a headset plain and simple. If you don't make calls, no need to wear one. And about the championship? You screwed me out of one about 3 years ago I don't care what you say. Just ask Eric Moore he got screwed the same year. And the RWD class was dying huh? How about the late models? 8-10 cars weekly? Better cut them too. I never said I didn't like you just stating it how I see it. Again it's JUST MY OPINION. Oh and sorry they call you a "program director" these days.

Mr. Program Director if you don't put numbers on the chalkboard you stand beside every week it can not be scored. Oh I guess you do write numbers on it. The starting line up!! That's the only thing I know you stand beside every week. How come your excuses are the truth. If someone asks you something from now on find out if they want you to lie or if they can stand the truth!!! You without a headset would be like scorers without pencils !!! Little do they know what happens every night!!! Hell they blame Lou for telling me what to do and he's hiding in a little back room at the payout window. In 9 yrs I've heard him 4 times on a headset and he wasn't even talking to me!!!! At times you give me your input of what you saw the same as 3-4 other people. Then I go from there based on what was told to me OR/AND what I see. Sometimes I'm right sometimes I'm wrong (HERES A BIG LIE) depends on who you are!!! ONE MORE THING !!! "Big Chassis" you asked about me running out of tracks to flag at ?? Just last week I was asked about a Fri night track and my name was brought up at a Sun track!!! And I'd do both!!! Have a good day !!!

You people are something else no wonder your tracks the way it is. I simply posted my thoughts. I didn't bash anyone or the track, I stated my opinion EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO AN OPINION. Truthfully other than Mick you are the best flag man that place has had. Never said Dave didn't do his job, I just said every time I tried to talk to him guess what? COLD SHOULDER! Quite honetly woth all the people and shit tou have to deal with and unhappy people screaming at you week after week i wouldnt want his job. And argue all you want every single track has there favorites and favortism. You can say what you want but it's true. You people blow this way outta whack, wasnt bashing anyone or the track!

If a class is dropped for having 10 cars or less they will have like 1 class next year.....hahaha. I can remeber pure stocks having almost 30 cars 3 years ago or so. They all quit coming because the payout sucks. Open your eyes humming-birdbrains. If you guys paid what the shit track in clearfield paid you would get more cars. Who wants to race for $125. It costs that just for a tire. At least double it man. It ain't rocket science.
