Red definitely had a dream, vision, and actions to keep affordable racing alive in SW PA. He was a great promoter you could talk to.

It would be interesting to add the RUSH cars to qualifying, or add the winner/top whatever from the crate feature to make a full 32 car field. I remember when tracks used to run cool add-ons to shows, Australian Pursuits, Crack of the Whip, etc.

This kind of stuff that gets people talking, in a productive way, and adds excitement to an event on a much larger scale!

We all must not forget, this is ppms and all this so called hype about these pit pass prices and grandstand prices has been a lie before. Many times when I raced there through out the yrs I was led to believe that there was a set price and then when I arrived at the gate the price magically changed. My money will be spent else where.

That is simply not true. Our prices have been on our website, now linked to ShowClix for all 25 seasons and they are the prices we charge at the gate.

$1000 question, Is there an "entry fee" for the SLM?

$1000! The ENTRY FEE for the Diehl PPMS SLM vs NDRL ULMS SLM is only $75!
24th position pays $456, 32nd at $309. Not bad, even with an entry...way better than a regular night.

Up to 32 drivers will have a chance to race their way into the money! Just picked up 3 more position sponsors...purse still growing and we will accept sponsors right up to race day. Dow will announce all sponsors & we will publish them.

Is our position 14 guy in this year?

Matt, just curious if the Sportsman are still racing for the same $300 if we are paying $40 to get in. Not trying to start a war on here, but guys are asking. Thanks. Vince

Then why do I see so many similar posts like mine over the past few years and have heard the same complaints in the pits with fellow drivers and the same goes for the grandstands.

Total RMR purse is still climbing, the sponsor support this year has been awesome. Thank you from the entire Miley Family! $23,483...still going ! Vince, Purse is a regular Sportsman purse. Pit fee is the same for Sportsman, just as it is for the other divisions for a Sportsman Special. If the Sportsman teams do not wish to race at these events we are open to dropping the class on these type of nights. I assumed guys wanted to race like we wish we could have at Heidelburg Specials that we attended anyhow, maybe I am wrong about that. Times are changing. Ultimately if Sportsman cars do not attend we will be forced to drop the class on special event nights. Hope it's the minority that don't want to race at specials. The class is pretty thin already. Matt

$25 for Grandstands and $40 for pits....highly thinking about changing my mind about going now. To many better paying late model races in a 6 hour radius...not going to get many outsiders with the shitty payout after 3rd. Plus they'll be lucky to get a max of 20 sprints as normal....not worth $25 when that's the price of the Pittsburgher.

1. Just because a late model show is paying more doesn't mean the racing is going to be better. The N/S paid $50,000 this past weekend but I can guarantee the racing will be better at PPMS this weekend. Outsiders don't make the racing any better either.

2. A 6 hour radius? Spending $50-$100 more in gas to save $5 doesn't make much sense.

3. $25 for this show isn't out of line and seems to be the standard now for $5,000 to win shows. I paid $30 to see the Lucas Oil guys follow each other around for an entire evening at Bedford a couple years ago, compared to that $25 is a hell of a bargain. If I get to see a pass in hotlaps Saturday night I've always received more entertainment value than I got at Bedford that night.

Matt, just my 2 cents- but even if you left the rest of the payout exactly the same for Sportsman, and just added to the top spot, ie $400 or $500 to win, you'd get more cars. Even if you only get 12 cars, with 3 crew members each that's 36 times $10 extra dollars towards our normal purse ($360). Just pay out $500 to win ($200 more than normal) and pocket the other $160 towards the bigger classes. Now, if you only get 7 cars at $300 to win as Jon's predicting- you're losing 5 cars or 15 people times $10 or $150 you'd pocket towards the bigger classes I mentioned above even after you paid out $500 to win. Plus the food, beer and family members in the stands of those 5 drivers. Not saying you have to drop us, but there's definitely room for you to get more cars and not hurt your bottom line at special events.
