That's what I thought, no barrel ever tipped over or came out onto the track. I don't have anything against Hoffner, its the track making a very bad call that will probably make the 03 not return, if you want new cars to come to your track you don't pull that bs..

just a totally baffling call....he is starting to lose cars and like you said this won't help

Doug knocked a barrel over in turn 3. It sucks for Eck, but it was the right call.

U

Yes right in front of me. I was standing in turn 3. He definitely got in too low and knocked over a barrel.

I did see him hit the barrell it flew past the cornerman ( we sit in thee middle of turn 3)..that is why you did not see it .now as far as that rule goes i guess you have to have an out of bounds line maybe instead of a barrell they should put the uke tires back then if the guys hit them it would cost a few hundred dollars to replace the damaged front end pieces . see where i am going with this ? a rule is a rule and if you hit a barrell you lose 2 spots . now for something else i have heard they are going to completly reconfigure the entire track and make it bigger , move the flag stand and the guard rails and completly change the whole track and then re-clay it .so be patient everyone ,like i said before we asked them to reopen this year and there was bound to be growing pains but i agree that some things could have been handled better and if they continue into next year there could be a lot less people and cars show up there are just to many tracks around to choose from.

any idea how they would manage this?

Sounds interesting there. So instead of just a circle track race like we are all used to, they throw in a few obstacles (barrels, tires, junk cars, and maniac drivers) and turn it into a real circus show? This could catch on!

The drivers voted for barrels at the drivers meetings because the huge uke tires that tracks usually use cause too much damage. They agreed to back peddle two spots if they hit a barrel and it does not cause a caution. This season Curtis Teats is the only driver to do that, anyone else has to be moved on a caution. That's the rule from all season. Why put anything around that inside? Because racing is meant to be on the track, not through the infield, and if nothing was there, they would use the infield. Would you prefer a guiderail?

The 03 was just trying to get under the 15 to try to pass, the track is so narrow that the only way to pass is dive into the berm and try to force the car ahead to move up so you can pass. The barrels sit right on the berm and will be bumped by cars trying to make a pass, would you like there to be no passing and a follow the leader race every night? I know I don't and most fans dont.. The corners are what... 50 feet wide? You could always use the rest of the track. If those barrels had been a rail or filled with concrete, there would have been a lot of car damage. Whats a little smack on the wrist for cutting the corner compared trashing the front of your car?

The high side has always worked at the track. Just need to grow a set and run up there.

The track is 2ft x 2ft in the pictures I
Seen .... Please explain how running the top side of a bullring like that takes " balls "

Sorry but I have watched many drivers try it this year and hardly anyone passed on the outside. Maybe if Ron Davies(the rim rider) raced there, he would be the only one to do it. I hope the changes Ace talked about is gonna happen, that would provide much better racing. ;)

That 2ft x2ft is what scares drivers because they think they are going to hit the wall coming off the corner. Have herd it many times from drivers mouths.

It is a small tight track. That's why I don't understand why everyone plays follow the leader around the bottom. The high side will come in if a few cars run up there earlier on. I'm also interested to see what Jeff does with it over the winter. I've said it before all the track needs is a little wider racing surface and better transitions in an out of the corners.

I think Jeff has done a great job trying to get the place up and running. I have NEVER liked the track layout. I could count on one hand how many times the high side has worked. It has nothing to do with growing a set as much as it has to do with the fastest line around the place. Have seen guys follow the leader and move up and lose ground or positions. Not jeffs fault but all to do with track layout. Not sure why, I have seen other small tight tracks that are conducive to good racing and passing. With all the new owner has done, I hope he does make the track better and fix the water problem at bottom of 1 n 2.
