It's always cool to see a track open/reopen, but 5 classes on a Sunday is a mistake. Optimally, it would only be three.

After scrolling through the comments on facebook, it looks like they are trying to start racing at 3 in the afternoon. Hopefully that was a mistake. I know they will have to get done early being in town, but 3 won't provide a good racing surface at all.

Daytime/evening racing might not be all that bad if they can get it to go black and slick from top to bottom, not unlke Utica Rome Speedway in New York. I've seen some fantastic races at Utica when the track was so black and slick the numbers reflected off of the track. What made it decent was that being so slick and smooth allowed guys to move around to find a grooves that worked for them. Plus, it has a tendency to be a lil' easier on equipment.

Why do you say that? All other Sunday tracks run 5 or 6 classes and don't have problems. Why would someone pay good money to see 6 heats and 3 Features... I certainly wouldn't. 9 races? C'mon. I've raced at tracks that run from 12pm till 5.30pm in 90+ temps and squeeze in 30 odd events for 8 classes. Now that's entertainment and value for money. In my opinion, 9 races isn't worth the gas money to get there, even if you live next door.

The most front gate successful tracks in the country run 4 or less divisions. IMO, 4 is even pushing it unless you present a show like Lernerville, Atomic or Attica with multiple true headliners.

You really don't understand American auto racing. Please stop acting as if you do.

Who in their right mind in this area couldn't predict this program? SLM's, (probably $1k to win), back gate and Crates. More of the same, worn out and boring, unimaginative formula that nearly every other track in this region uses.

Can't beleive you guys are Bitching allready! What divisions would like them to run?? Something that will draw four cars? Have to go with a proven sucess formula to start! Then after you are sucessful....try something new! Have to go with what you know works to start. Superlatemodel, Crate Model, Pure Stock and Four Cylinder...all No Brainers! I for one am just happy to see a track re-open that I thought was dead for ever! And to be a Sunday track makes it that much sweeter for me! I happen to think like Nascar "Sunday is for Racing" Although that may be the only thinking we share! Its been 18 years and I can't wait! So lets all get behind these guys and give them the support they deserve! Now...Starting at 3PM????? Maybe in the Spring and Fall when temps are cool! But will never make it in the Summertime! They will have Dust problems for sure! I would like to see a 6 Pm start! No reasom four divisions can't be done by 10 PM! And that is reasonable for a Sunday night! And I also think they need to stick with a basic schedule! Nothing Fancy! Don't need specials...just regular racing every Sunday night! Where the Fans and drivers can find a new home! If all goes well.... throw in a special at the end of the year! I am excited!

crates with virtually no rules and no sanctioning body...should make for an awesome field...my point about these classes is what would make you wanna save your money to go on a sunday when you have the same option to go see virtually the same show at 20 different places friday and saturday...maybe if you live close but other than that...

I already said it's very cool that a track is reopening, but 5 classes on a Sunday is too much. They should lose at least one.

Dingo

you've been" round here "long enough you have been afflicted with that westen pa. mindset.... why not 7 8 9 classes.... keep the people hostage till sometime monday....
i would pay "good money" to watch a 3 class show {two would be better} any night , but especially on a sunday
your definition of "entertainment" differs greatly from mine
and, "value" for my money is NOT watching 3. 4. 5 & more support classes

IMO, 4 or 5 classes on any nite is too much. To many "filler" classes is exactly the reason I quit doing the weekly thing. The exception would be Lernerville once in a while. Like the man said, being held hostage for 4 or 5 hours was crazy. Look at the likes of a Dog Hollow and a Marion Center padding the back gate with 5 and 6 classes and look what happened to Dog Hollow and how about Marion Centers crowd dwindling to near nothing. Myself I just do the Touring Series and the bigger specials now and find myself enjoying myself a lot more.
