Do they have scales?I doubt it on Bedford pure stock rules.. I dont see them going with rules that only 1 track in the area has as appose to rules that all other tracks in the area run. Their best bet would be to go with Hesston style rules that go by weight class. That way you can somewhat keep it equal and draw from as many tracks as possible.

i don't see why all 4 tracks don't adopt the same Rules package for both Pure stock, AND street stock. the semi lates are still growing, i don't expect anyone to pick those up aside from amp for a couple years. late models are late models, fwd's are fwd's.I am glad that Ebensburg is opening up because i loved the place before, but exactly whose purestock rules are they going to run marion center with their 350 block anything goes rule or a.m.p 358 cubic inch triple disc clutch set up and headers allowed or hummingbird speedway rules and i don't know what they are but know you need to run exhaust manifolds . good luck with your classes but the first person in town that bitches about noise or dust and there it goes for another 18 years .they fu%$ed alby laminica after he put all his money in the place .
if these tracks would all come to an agreement over rules for pures, and streets, it would be more beneficial to everyone.

Bingo ! Finally some common sense. No one wants to change half of their car just to run at another track.jeep the rules the same . Make it easier on the racers and you'll get more cars.

Problem is no track wants to listen.they want their own rules. To keep "their" cars at their track.its simple minded thinking. Racers don't have the time and money to change tires, carbs, headers , and so on just to run Fri somewhere and Saturday somewhere else or just to have fun and not point chase and try a different track one week.

i would gladfully attend any rules meeting, only problem i have is i don't race, can't afford it so it would make no sense for myself to even bother. noone would listen to a guy who doesn't race at a rules meeting about different classes.i agree with both of these last posts.we need more guys like you at the rules meeting or adopt the little guys natonals rules package or the hesston rules .

you've been" round here "long enough you have been afflicted with that westen pa. mindset.... why not 7 8 9 classes.... keep the people hostage till sometime monday....
i would pay "good money" to watch a 3 class show {two would be better} any night , but especially on a sunday
your definition of "entertainment" differs greatly from mine
and, "value" for my money is NOT watching 3. 4. 5 & more support classes
This is THE one FAN that gets IT better than most on this board. Always has for the ten plus years I've been here.

what is everyones definition of a "support" class? i know the typical answer would be fwd's, pures, sometimes streets. i was at hummingbird almost all season this year, and honestly, every single class at that track produced some absolutely great racing. I personally wouldn't consider any of those classes, this year at least, "support" classes. i know "support" classes are in place just to give people something else to watch, or a break in between the big shows, or things of that nature. But if the "support" class is producing some great side by side racing and photo finishes almost every night, i would hardly classify them as a "support" class. just my opinion, not lashing out at The Fan or anyone else, but thats been bothering me all year.you've been" round here "long enough you have been afflicted with that westen pa. mindset.... why not 7 8 9 classes.... keep the people hostage till sometime monday....

thats a good description Walt. although i am still a firm believer in the quality of the racing defining whether its a support class or a headliner, i totally agree, sprints, supers, and big block mods are the top 3 classes on dirt. I am also a firm believer in the little guys, like the pures, fwd's and the streets. those guys put just as much work into their cars and their program as the guys who run supers etc. and they do it for much less money. Why? Because the Love of racing is still engraved into those guys and girls. not saying at all that the sprints, supers, and big blocks don't have that love, but they've moved into another class of driver, one who likes the big pay-day. and i don't blame them at all for wanting more money. and i'm also not saying the little guys don't enjoy making some extra bucks. but there are guys that put as much effort, time and money into their "support" cars as some of the guys in the headliner classes. and in my opinion, they produce better racing because they're more worried about making it to the next show. of course you have your guys that drive like idiots. every class does haha.I think the definition of a "support class" has a lot to do with what track it the class is running at. For example, steel block Late Models are a support class at Marion Center, but the top class at Hummingbird, not too far away. No question the top three classes are Sprint Cars, "super" Late Models and big block Modifieds. However, nowadays we have quite a few track running without those classes such as Hummingbird, Raceway 7 and Lake Erie for three. Most of the support classes put on some great racing and due to the high purses needed for the top three classes, some tracks just can't afford them and keep the gates open. I would much rather see a track running "support" classes only than sitting dark!!! If the sport doesn't find more ways to cut the costs of racing, all weekly tracks might just be racing "support" classes someday!!
GOOD RACING TO ALL
Walt
