Bad move by Kennedy. There are a ton of drivers (many guys who have experience running the big shows and have traveled before) that he could have talked to instead. Max will get ran over weekly.

He is pretty much getting thrown to the wolves of the touring series big boys!

I agree..I highly doubt he will be making the a mains, if anything he will be using provisionals at each event if he has them. Thats the only way most of the roy makes these traveling races.

Kennedy made a deal anyone with perfect attendance in Arizona and Texas gets guaranteed provisionals all year ... So he will be racing in every a main if he makes it or not

didn't you know that's what this board is for??? bad mouthing any local driver you can? especially when they get a shot of a lifetime?

I hope max does well. Gregg satterlee is doing great with the big boys. it'd be nice to see another local, or semi-local driver make it with the big boys.

Playing in the crate lates and jumping to supers. let alone doing it with numerous big name drivers racing in the series. Anyone expecting big things from Max Blair is hitting pipe extremely hard. Here is a little info found out from the PRI trade show. Performance Racing Trade Show.•A number of drivers have also announced their intentions of following the full NDRL tour ◦John Blankenship, Steve Francis, Johnathan Davenport, Mason Ziegler, and William Thomas have made plans to follow the series full-time in 2014 ◦Billy Moyer, Brian Birkhofer, Jason Feger, and others followed the series in 2013 and are likely to be found back there again next season. Not to mention guys like Bloomquist. and others following Lucas and Outlaw shows. That will show up at NDRL shows. And some people think Max Blair is going to be competitive against these guys. And comparing Greg Satterlee. To Max ?? Please.

Everyone in these touring series had to start somewhere and with varying levels of experience...

It's impossible to say what max can do after 3 years of touring with Robbie Allen ... Unless John Kennedy becomes the high bidder for his services

Max won an amazing 26 features last year---there is a learning curve, for sure, but talent is talent and if given time in the ride he will contend eventually.

max won a super late feature at marion center this past season, pretty impressive considering he hadn't ran the super very much, nor had he ever raced at mcs very often either....certainly not comparing the center to NDRL but you can see the potential is there for sure

Racing crates and racing super lates is like apples and oranges. He was the "Big Fish" in the small "small sea" in crates, now he will find out what it like to be the "small fish" in the "Big Sea".... I guess we really don't know all the particulars in the Clanton leaving, but in my mind, there are many more deserving SLM drivers who are more familiar and have more experience with SLM's.....time will tell. One thing is for sure.....he better learn to pass without running over other drivers or his stay will be short lived!!!! Gregg Satterlee would have been a much better choice, still young, talented, and most important........more personable!

well, we have raced everywhere with max, and had good and bad days against him. more bad. but i will tell you this, this kid will run with those guys. he will have similar equipment, and if his dad sets up his rocket cars, he will be good, very good. he has what many great drivers have, a smooth foot, and keeps his cars straight at all times. those attributes make an elite drivers. i look at davenport as an example. he came from crates, and crates need to be straight, smooth, and keep momentum. you learn that in crates, and he mastered it. you don't win that many races buy being lucky. he is the best around here, and to put another young talented driver in that car over max......why? and better yet, who? satterlee is good, but he has his deal, and paid for his road to success with his crew chief. you don't want some old veteran, you want a young, hungry lion, and this kid was born to do it. this is what they live for. love to see him make the naysayers eat crow. i think this is only the beginning for him, and i wish him luck. glad to see it happen for him.
