all this could be cleared up with a rules meeting !let the racers vote on it not make rules up as we go.

The 2400 lb. came out of the original rules meeting that was held prior to the track opening and was voted on by the teams that were in attendance.

I think they should just stay with the same rules as last year, only because most of the guys running up this way are already invested in Steel Blocks, I don't think the 60 pound up front is necessary if they are sticking with a 2400 pound rule.....If they were running a lower weight like the 2250 at PPMS then the rule of adding an additional 60 pounds up front would be an equalizer of which I could agree with.......Just make it 2400 pounds and call it even same as last year would be fair in my opinion.

Now that would make since, and I'm pretty sure my team is not the only car from Clinton with an aluminum block that was planning on running Sat nights at AMP. For me, the 60lbs up front is just a hassle that I don't want to deal with....... Keep it the same as last year, and we will come. I know last year, they had a pretty good car count. One of the times we ran there last year, they had a full field and I think 5 cars that didn't make the show. Why would someone want to crew that up? As far as evening the field for steel block cars, I know there were several steel block cars there the nights I ran, that were just as fast as we were with an aluminum block. The 2400lbs pretty much evens the field when you compare steel and aluminum blocks.....

I'm not one to throw gas on a fire, we'll just roll into some where else. It's a shape, considering we are probably one of the lowest budgeted super late teams around, and we finished pretty decent the two times we ran there last year. I mean our car has a number on each door and that's it, no sponsors, fancy wraps, etc...... Hopefully AMP reconsiders there decision, but if not, I wish the best for them. Its good to see tracks that were closed re-opened and running.

Ppms is 2250 and you can put your weight wherever you want it ...

It would be a long haul for us, but we'd love to run there. I actually really like running the big tracks, although we usually stick to the short tracks. It sucks because of the beating and banging, but on our budget we can handle the cost of replacing control arms, sheet metal, etc. What we can't afford, is to pop a motor, and those big tracks are usually a lot harder on the power plant. Although if things go decent this coming year, we are going to try and hit some bigger races/tracks toward the end of the year. We're pretty stoked for this coming season, it will be the first new chassis we've ever had, and we are piecing back together a pretty stout 13 degree motor we picked up from the Chamberlains.

I have yet to see Port Royal, Williams Grove or Lincoln change the weight rule, or give a weight break for teams that run 358/360 engines so they can compete with the 410's. They have classes for those engines and if you chose to run those engines against the 410's, you know going in that you are at a disadvantage.
