No thank you. I'm quite busy enough doing my own thing during racing season. However if I did finally accept an offer of employment at a track it would not be AMS.

I do have to say this is kind of strange. When this first all came out I posted that they were looking for someone to run the kart track. I was told this from 3 solid karting sources in his area. I received a call within minutes after posting from Mr. Thomas himself essentially saying I was wrong. Now you guys bash him into oblivion and he says nothing to anyone on here to defend himself. Strange, a karting comment set off a whirlwind but 3 weeks of slamming brings no reaction. I am a big believer in staying off Racestud from a promoters standpoint. But this is one instance where he needs to do damage control quick.

Maybe he could have another virtual press conference to address these issues. I know I enjoyed listening to him talk in front of his 1960's era office desk with the lonely coffee pot sitting on top as he constantly looked off to the right while uncomfortably hugging himself. Maybe he could have more pretend phone conversations with area racing personalities.

I don't post on here much but this is the strangest reopening of a track i've ever seen. who uses the term street team and claims of a 440,000 dollar sponsor from local bowling alley. i've always liked tri-city but this is over the top. I don't see this getting to far. Anyone who is big into investment would never invest this much for little to no profit. The purses that he's posting are way beyond what that track can do. The only track in this area is Lernerville and they seat 20,000 people. mr thomas doesn't appear to have much knowledge in racing. They will have to pull in 4000-5000 people to break even and have tha seating which they don't.

In all seriousness I think he entered into this venture believing that local business would be so eager for the track to re-open that they would gladly sign on as sponsors and hand out large sums of money. Furthermore, he believed the vast majority of racing fans are uneducated rubes that would blindly accept his plans and promises without need for explanation. Lastly, I think he believes so much in his own abilities and decisions that he does not need to be considerate of the comments or complaints of an open forum such as this.

I have been thinking about the $440,000 sponsorship package versus the $175,000 one with Pepsi. It is my belief that they multiplied the estimated 90000 free games of bowling they believe will be given away with each ticket with the cost of a regular game of bowling plus what ever real money was contributed, which probably is closer to $400 than $440,000. Continuing to do the math, 90000 tickets over the 3-year deal divided over the 5 nights of racing would be at least 6000 expected paying customers to each show.

I think by implying a large cash amount is an attempt to goad other business into larger contributions. I wonder how many of those 90000 games will actually be used.

Something to consider Mr. Thomas kees promising the All-Stars will be there for the non sanctioned races. According to the All Star rule book on their website: 6.5 - Any member running a non-sanctioned race paying more than $3000 to win within 24 hours of an All Star sanctioned event will lose two nights of appearance money and prorated points money unless approved by All Star Senior Management. There is an All-Star show in June at Lincoln Speedway and a race at Butler Speedway for the August race that fall within the window noted in their rules. The All-Stars are not going to be there for those two shows.

As far as the solicitation of money from area businesses I am sure he would rather invest as little of his own capital as possible. The only reservation I have with this is that if the investors aren't there if the season starts and the money isn't made at the gate or concessions is whether the drivers get paid. Let us not forget that the biggest news out of two of the series he has booked is that they were not given thousands of dollars promised to them. Both Fastrak and the BRP modified tour have been slighted money that was to be used for driver payouts and/or point funds. Have these two touring series been booked with that in mind? The Penn/Ohio stock series is brand new and could be an easy mark for a shrewd business man.

Any driver that competes in the initial race sanctioned by the All-Stars will accrue All-Stars points and could be considered a driver from the All-Star circuit. Assuming two or more local drivers will be part of the initial race and will compete at all 5 events he could technically claim he has drivers from the All-Stars.

I seen you trolling over on Hoseheads earlier in the week and wondered how long it would take you to post it here.

I think you might be pretty close to the truth. Hell, we can't even get positive confirmation that Mike Thomas owns the track.

As far as the "uneducated rubes" term, what he might well fail to understand is that the outspoken majority of fans around here have some damn good excuses to be set on kill when things don't add up.

I'm still hoping this is all legit, but not nearly as hopeful as I once was.

While I get your point, not a word would be said if All Star guys ran these races. This rule was created to keep non ASCoC tracks from piggy backing races on off nights. The ASCoC guys would be allowed to run, if they so choose. But the advertising of the races as ASCoC races, is just plain wrong. That said, I have my doubts that this goes beyond a first show, if a first show ever happens. If you do the math, it's just not financially possible. Unless the guy is willing to lose 25 or 30k per show.

Thankyou! Hopefully everyone else will figure out soon that this whole thing is nothing but a huge scam. It will never happen and if it EVER does it will not be this year! Just read about how much work needs done. He better be doing 24 hour shifts starting tomorrow.

I don't get all the negatives, i'm just glad there is another race track around to go to, I don't care what series there running, racing is racing and I support all forms of it, the people who keep bashing it are the people killing the sport and then will complain when a track closes. Just enjoy the sport and do what you can to help it from going under.

I don't think there is anyone out there that doesn't want to see TCS reopen. However, people have a right to be skeptical. At first I thought some of these folks were being a little harsh or were overreacting to some of the things said by Thomas or members of his organization. But, it is clear that there are many aspects of this venture that don't add up. There are already far too many snake oil salesman involved in race track ownership/promoting around here. The track would be better off remaining closed rather than reopening and then closing again because someone underestimated what it took to make it a success.
