Your sarcasm would be much more effective if you learned the difference between then and than.

Maybe he means he wants to wait until the season starts to bash...then bash all season? #englishisconfusing

In their website a street team member, (whatever that is,) named Earl says they have hired an announcer. I commented as did others that it would be a mistake not to bring Walt Wimer back. According to the street team member direct from Mike Thomas he contacted Walt and Walt says he is retired and wants to keep it that way. Now I have known Walt Wimer for 30 years. He is my good friend and has been a mentor to me as well. I emailed Walt last night. Here is the email Walt sent to me concerning his retirement. Hi Mike!!!! He is a damn liar!!!! I have never heard a word from him!!! Walt Makes you wonder just how much they can be trusted when they try to throw an icon like Walt Wimer under the bus.

A street team member may be an off shoot of the PA Piss Pig.

Any entity that has "street team" members doesn't have the slightest f*cking clue about dirt racing or it's fanbase.

After reading this I want to know when they will be doing a spotlight on Racestud's own Rick Rarer. ALLEGHENY MOTOR SPEEDWAY SPOTLIGHT: BILL KEENER OWNER OF BILLS DIRT LATE MODELS AND LONG TIME RACE FAN By: Jayla Perry My first reaction when I heard Tri-City Speedway was being bought was by WHO! I was hoping whoever bought it would bring back the sounds of motors roaring on weekends and not to just buy it for other means. I'm really EXCITED that the fans and drivers alike in this region can have there Venango County 1/2 mile back no matter what divisions are running. I'm EXCITED to see what and if the fans and drivers will come out and support the new Allegheny Motor Speedway. I really think this will happen being on a limited schedule in 2014 kind of like the Little Valley Speedway. They are on a very limited schedule and it seems the fans can't wait for that monthly race to roll around on there calendar. Just really hope the fans and drivers will come out and support the Thomas Organization in all there 2014 efforts. When I was a child it seemed like everyone I knew raced. My dad Mel ( Turtle ) Keener was pretty well known with his Oldsmobile race cars in The Semi - Late Division in the 70's & 80's at Tri-City racing weekly with drivers such as Bill Bossard, Max Blair, Bill Wagner, Les Myers, Bootie Petsko, Lou Steadman, Gary Littlefield and etc. So many friends of mine today where born at Tri-City Speedway so the memories from the early 70's until today will just continue to go on as long as the Speedway stays open for many more years to come. My advise after going to the races well over 40 years is not so much to the fans as it is to the owners, GM’s, promoters alike. Fans and children will appreciate your product much more if you can provide these fans on & off the track excitement , get them home at a decent hour especially Sunday Night Racing, try to keep your racing surface dust levels down by all means. I honestly know this isn't always going to happen but the better racing surface you provide the drivers to race on and fans to enjoy watching. What your gate intake should rise weekly and that means more butts in the seats. Provide your fans giveaways, 50-50's, clean rest rooms, a great food court menu at reasonable pricing and some souvenir's for all ages this will keep your fans some what entertained between racing action. These are just some common factors that will generate a new growing fan base. After owning Bill's Dirt Late Models.com sense 2001 my biggest thing to watch for at Allegheny Motor will be to see if there will be enough interest to bring in the Super Late Models for a race or if there will be any on the docket in 2015. It's no surprise I follow Super Late Model Racing. I really enjoy the crate late models but I just don't get the full effect of the crates on a big track like Allegheny Motor Speedway as I would say as a MCR or Sharon Speedway. Nerveless I'm still happy to see the facility be resurrecting from the dead and I only wish great things for the entire staff at Allegheny Motor Speedway. Thank you for bringing back family environment racing! Bill (The Bossman) Keener of Team BDLM

pr rule#1- always check the facts before you make it public! the whole thing with walt could of been verified by a phone call or an email. and if the new owner did in fact tell you that knowing now what walt said why would you keep posting stuff from that person? just an opinion not trying to start anything. good luck with your new pr job!

We are part of the street team. Associated with Mike. Have a problem? Ill ask him and relay it. Not really a PR job. I just wanted to help out beings that the track isnt far from home. The 5 of us are the voice of it. Not trying to start anything. I sent a message to Walt already. Dont want it to sound like i'm the one who said it. Thats all. I asked Mike a question about Walt, and thats the answer I got. I can't control it.

So who do you think is telling the truth? Might be a good time to decide.

wellerfan, i do not have any problem with what you are doing. with that being said why would you want to deal with all the bullshit of getting called out on stuff that is not true. if you are the street team like you say and are passing out information about the track why would you not verify it? you just posted you contacted walt why would you not do this before you posted to verify it. and for the record walt would be a great fit as an announcer for the speedway. and plus you guys have ray as the director again a great fit for the speedway. but we have heard nothing from him.maybe because he wants to be sure about what he posts on the message board to make sure everything is the right information. again i wish you well and hope everything works out for everyone involved. again, please check your facts. this way you are not taking the heat for someone else.

because he relayed the question to mr. Thomas and that's the answer he must of received. so he posted what he was told. the way I understand it, the street team relays all messages to mr Thomas, mr. Thomas answers them. its not his duty to go around Thomas with answers

Mike cleared it all up for me. Here's his statement. Again, I apologize to you guys, was just relaying what I was told. :-/ Sorry for the confusion about the announcer situation everyone. Here's the deal: Andy Alm of 99.3 will be involved, as will likely Joe Lodanosky of 96.3. Racing Pastor Bill will also play a role. The AMS staff have not contacted Mr. Wimer as of yet. The statement about him being retired was not confirmed and we apologize for the misunderstanding. AMS plans to use multiple announcers including in the pits and on track to bring fans an entirely new experience. Mr. Wimer is legendary and I know Mr. Thomas has the utmost respect for him and plans to connect soon. There was no intentional lying involved--miscommunication between parties only.

Earl, you guys got caught in yet another lie. Your last statement is one huge back pedal from the initial statement. To be clear the issue is not that Walt wasn't hired. It is that he was never contacted and then either you or Mr Thomas lied telling people Walt said he was retired. Playing politics is something Mr Thomas is used to doing being the vice chairman of the Republican Party in Venango County, but that does not translate well with racers.

I see the facebook post regarding Andy Alm as the announcer was removed. You may also want to delete the corresponding tweet as well. I would edit the tweet about having "infkatables."
