Center bolt valve covers have been used since 87 vortec came out in 95 .They are probably tunedport heads.

Blow the pic up and look at control arm mount. Looks like they are adjustable ones. They were adjusted for roll center etc. Then welded shut. Hmmm, not stock suspension mounting points. Not even close. Rumor has it that there will be a thorough teching this week in PS. Maybe they will find the traction control on one of those cars.

Look at the aluminum himes end instead of tie rods also plus the aluminum drag links. Never seen any car in that class come factory with those either.. but what do I know

Also that car appears to be tunneled, not really sure. I thought they had to have the stock fire wall? Plus that's a nice set of headers instead of stock cast manifold

Well we aren't even sure if this is a pure stock. It says that it is the 83 but who knows. Looking at it it looks like a street stock chassis. They don't require stock firewalls but they DO require a FULL firewall and floor. Headers are allowed. Frame and mounts have to be stock appearing. IF that is a pure stock those mounts and frame cut out are NOT legal. Rules say that steering MUST remain OEM. So I don't know how the car in the pic can be a pure stock.
One thing I have noticed all season that some pure stocks have been running spoiler sides. Rules say no spoilers or sides. Rules say no spoilers or sides or wings of ANY size. As much as they have teched that car in picture must not be a pure stock. Ill bet its a SS.

Definitely is the car mentioned. Not a streetstock. Has 8 inch tires. Guess those guys should watch what they post online.

If they concentrated on their visual tech alone, that car has loads of infractions......

It says full firewall in drivers compartment. May be boxed in.  No higher than right side door opening.

snooky that is the 83 so called pure stock. I don't believe they ever had any tech at hummingbird for the reg.cars. The 83 car is cheating that's plane as day. With that being said the track tech people need to do there job !!!!!

not to mention if the 83 cant pass someone he either takes them out or decides to start the race about half way threw 3/4. he got warned in the king of the hill race but of course no punishment. they need to start techin and putting people to the back for rough driving, or there going to start losing cars esp if thunder mountain runs Saturday night in 2015

Never saw 83 drive rough. Aggressive, yes. And he tries to cheat the starts. But if that is the 83 in the pic, its a street stock chassis. Heck, there are a number of infractions that are visable in the picture.
