Honestly to me, this all sounds like a case of, "it wasn't fun anymore." I'm certain that Jeff got into this with the best intentions, and regardless of what all led to the final decision being made, to me it basically boils down to the fact that it wasn't enjoyable for them anymore, so they are getting out. It sucks for everyone involved that it had to happen this way.

If he would finish the UPGRADES to the track he might be able to sell it.
If not it will sit idle .

Actually if I'm not mistaken, I believe Joey C still owns the track. I think there was lease/purchase agreement, but I'm not positive.
Anyone know the details?

there is not enough room on here to say all the things that went on up at the track and this horse is about dead anyhow . everyone complains that you can't race at that track but i could show you hours of good racing at that track . i have seen lots of it so what is the problem then poor track prep oh not all the time but when you have a mudhole off turn two where you can actually set up a lowside pass then you get poor racing . i will guarantee if someone comes in and grades the bottomside of that track off the turns there will be good racing there .but a track owner doing what this guy did then you get a bunch of he said she said bullcrap i feel sorry for the good people who tried to help and was insulted by this man who is supposed to be a business man .the guy who sponsered the track for the year is a one man garage mechanic and nowhere in the article was there a thank you to him and he was a sponser for both years . how about the guys who were working the track grader for them no thanks to any of his workers .i lived in new jersey for one summer you can keep it .i have heard rumblings of people looking into running the place next year but we all know how the rumor mill works and with thunder mountain and hesston opening there might be thin car counts in an already thin area anyhow .you cant run the same classes as everyone else you need to start a class back up for the cars sitting in the area and there are some sitting . and you cant punish latemodels with a weight rule and cut purses either that chased cars away .problems will always happen like dr .dirt said you just have to learn how to handle them without kicking people out and having restraining orders put on them .one last thing i never heard one word about the 12 car pile up in the street stocks at the bird two weeks ago but if that happened at a.m.p there would have been 3 pages on here !!!!

Bring back the modifieds! I have a new one collecting dust in my garage that I bought when there was 27 tracks within a 5 mile radius running them...

Did ya ever notice that the people that complained about AMP on here all the time where for the most part the same ones that complained about Hummingbird when they went there? Kind of coincidental how the constant complaining about the Bird stopped when AMP opened. If you could research back far enough on this board, I bet you would find it was the same people complaining about CPS when it was still dirt. Same complaints, different track. I'm not saying that some of the complaints aren't valid, but alot of it is the same stuff they complained about in the past. The sad thing is, this board represents a very small percentage of the fans that attend the tracks. I went to the Bird one night this year and the only bellyaching I heard was about the micro sprints, and the complaint was that there was too many of them! There are just some fans out there that will never be satisfied.

People always complain about track prep – people always complain about rules – people always complain about other drivers – the issue here are the things that Jeff said in AARN…they are his opinion, and he has a right to his opinion…BUT to label everyone in the entire area the way he did was flat out wrong, “the extraordinary depth of anti social behavior – in the midst of citizenry of Clearfield County Pennsylvania? That to me lumps everyone in the county together, we are all anti-social, we are all looking for a fight…
And the things that they were upset about…someone threw a pencil at his wife?…Please
People threatened to kill him? – not sure I even believe that.
Why would someone waste a perfectly good camera to throw it at his head? Throw a rock at his head instead, plenty of those up there.
State Police wouldn’t come? Because it’s private property? Don’t believe that either.
Lawrence Township police are understaffed – that’s a fact they are.
I personally don’t care if I’m lumped into this anti-social group, but I can see why the people of the county would not like to hear that.
The issue here is the stuff he said in AARN, the track is dead, that ship has sailed.

If I remember when Dickey was running Gamblers there was very little bitching on here, he was bending over backwards for the racers & fans.
But when the FIREMEN thought he was making thousands of bucks and demanded there money before the night was over it sent him over the deep end.He did not even have money to pay for his medication he was only trying to keep that track open.
The signs on RT153 still say GAMBLERS RACEWAY PARK.

Dickey was making some progress at the track before "the incident." They were drawing decent crowds and different teams were showing up each week, and the field sizes were beginning to build. He didn't have the cash to work on the cosmetics, but most of the nights I was there the track was in good shape and the racing was really good.

Say what you want about Dickey DeLisle...he's a true racer, and he was doing a good job...he lost his home and everything he owned over that place...if he just would have had a huge checking account he probably would have made it.

I have NEVER spoken unkindly about Dick, there was much much more behind what happened then people realize...and this board is not the place to tell the tale.
