Just read on the web site that the Bainey family is back at the helm of the asphalt track.  3 super cup races scheduled so far, and they are building up something called Street Wars.

I'm a little disappointed to hear that it's going to remain an asphalt track. There have been rumors that it was going to be converted back to dirt the full 1/2 mile.

I used to Live in Virginia.  the Local asphalt track there called Langley Speedway does something like these street wars.  They call it Wacky Wednesday there.  street legal cars (only) compete in head to head, one lap drag races in an elimination style bracket.  I like the idea of that.  Gives the younger generation a safe place to have their pissing contests and keeps them off the streets.  It's a nice way to bring import and American car guys together.  Maybe the baineys will be interested in holding some auto cross events?

Still would love to see that track go back to dirt.

There is a part of me that was disappointed to hear that the possible return to dirt rumors weren't true as well.  But I enjoy the asphalt racing too, so the other part of me is just happy they will be holding a few events.  Baineys drew some pretty decent late model fields the year they ran it, so hopefully they try to bring some of them back.

They got a nice write up about the Super Cup Series running 3 races next year up here.  If they can get a couple local teams involved, it brew some interest from the local fans.

Super Cup really does have a good thing going. There's nothing more bullet proof than this type of chassis and their rules are quite budget friendly. Good stuff. Oh, and the racing is good. Lots of side by side.

Hopefully Bainey will do more than just a few events so they can sell it. Guys like myself will bring my cars out for special events- just as we did when it reopened and they decided to run support divisions. But guess what- they changed rules right before the race-slow pay.... Now if most of the cars travel 2+ hours to get there-why would they go back. Watch and see who return to Jennerstown. If u set it up to fail- guess what happens?

You can't make a track work on 3 events that screams failure

Did they say they were in it for the long haul ???how long is that haul? or is it the next best thing to Eldora or Daytona or Talledaga?the last guy was handing out free tickets like candy on halloween and could not get more than 100 people  at the place, so what was he doing wrong ?are people really going to spend 15 dollars to see a few street cars run around in a spectators race ?i live near route 80 for 15 dollars i will let you stand on the bridge and count cab over kenworths go under your feet and when you get bored you can go to Kylertown and jump on the on-ramp and join in the fun .lmfao!!!!!good luck i really do wish you the best.

I would assume if you BUY a Track to use as R&D and you say you are going to run big events- well that you use it for both???? I must've missed those big races when Baineys owned it- how many were there 2-3?????? There's no doubt weekly racing would be difficult- dirt or asphalt. All that other crap abt watching highways- if there was a point in there somewhere- well it eluded me!

Bainey's had 2 or 3 TBRA Late Models races the year they ran it.  I think they had 18-22 cars, which I didn't think was bad considering there was only one from this area.  I think they were $5000 to win and $600 to start.

There's a good chance of it. Not sure he could get around there anymore though. Hahaha!

I think there are a lot of local guys who ran the pave track back in its day that switched to dirt that could do really well if they wanted to.
