Davey lee, We started racing in a Rocket because they were readily available, but after a period there were no results, switched to GRT back in early 2003,boom won a pile of features that year, then bent the front in a bad crash, car was junked,a friend of mine had a real good deal on a rocket so we got it,once again after a couple seasons not running too good, then sold, purchased another GRT which currently still run and once again running good weekly at any track we go, long story short,I believe they fit my driving style better, I also urge anyone that wants to find there groove to try different chassis and explore,ya never know, I truly belieive the driving style and chassis selection mean alot.

Rocket ride don't try using logic with a " race studder " it doesn't work . Some cars are designed to be driven straighter and some are designed to be thrown. People on this board deep throat Richards and baker .... All of those former rocket drivers didnt leave because they were treated great and given great information .... This concept of buying a car because " it's close " it's absurd to me. Close for what ??? Picking it up once ???? There's this crazy thing called ups and
They get parts shipped right to your door in 2015 .. If you need a clip ??? How often does that happen ??? And in terms of ripping the car apart taking it to the builder and putting it back
Together what is a couple hours driving ??? As people leave rocket and start winning maybe some eyes will open but I doubt it this is the state the elected tom Wolfe , Obama twice and bang dudes billy peduto ..

Rockets seem to fit Davey J's driving style the best since they've come into existence, but the success he had last year was in a Club 29 Rocket. Instead of Lazer or Rocket, maybe he should be getting a Club 29.

Truthfully...never cared much about Rocket's set up info!  If you need more than basic info from them like ride heights ect... maybe you should be doing something else instead of racing!  But I started racing back in the day when you had to know something!  Couldn't just buy the information!  And your knowledge was a closely guarded secret!  90% of the guys racing today could never build a car!

Mark is arrogant but he has a group of people around him who are not.

Steve Baker for one has to be one of the people that draws people to Rocket. I have spoken to him several times and he has been personable each time. Josh and Matt also seem to be personable.

Sometimes the best businessman is he surrounds himself with people who makeup for his shortcomings.

I also agree that both Bloomquist and Moyer if they wanted to could market there chassis and sell boat loads if they wanted to.

actually Moyer is now part owner of victory circle chassis.👍👍👍🏁🏁🏁

Legend knows Rocket Chassis sell great!    He is just having a ball with you guys.  take any subject on late model racing, and he can add to it [with whatever twist he see's fit] and then argue you are wrong. makes interesting reading for sure.

Actually he isn't. He is part owner of Victory Chassis not Victory Circle Chassis. Victory makes modified chassis.

Doesnt Rodney Combs have an interest in Rocket?

As far as Johnson goes I think he is surrounding himself with a crew that just isnt working towards whats right for the driver. It has to be right for that driver-not who drove it before or is currently driving that type of chassis. Every driver has a different style some people dont agree with what is needed for the driver, just whats the norm. And the good drivers arent normal. In both sense of the word!

Austin Hargrove is a very highly regarded crew chief though.

Hargrove isnt what DJ needs, they just arent clicking.

Didnt imply he wasnt a good crew chief.

The amount of input " crew chiefs " have is overstated. The TOP guys make their own calls. Hartman was one of the absolute top wheel men in the country when he won the world with Hargrove wrenching. You have your guys like Robbie Allen , Ronnie Stuckey and Kevin Rumley who would immensely help the typical racer but guys like Bloomquist , Moyer , Owens , lannigan wouldn't be any faster with those guys wrenching

Legend is spot on, crew chiefs for the most part turn wrenches according to what the DRIVER tells them....

I was going to say that , I don't think anyone is telling Dave set-ups or just changing his car. HE MAKES THE CALL , ALL OF THEM
