You would think that no one in their right mind would race on Easter....but Bridgeport postponed their Race of Champions big block special until this Sunday. I'm skeptical, but I guess we'll see how it goes.

To me that is TOTALLY disrespectful they should change the name to the Race of Chumps!
Bridgeport shame on you!

I agree!!!  NASCAR has run their "Cup" races on Sundays since the 1950s, but NEVER on Easter Sunday!!!

GOOD RACING TO ALL!!!

Meh. It's okay to have faith and all, but expecting everybody else to cater to your particular faith is some self righteous bullshit.

Bridgeport's show will do alright. The folks that want to go to church will do it before the races.

There's always sports on holidays. If I were a promoter at this level though, it wouldn't be worth it. Sure, people would show up, but a lot would stay home as well. Weather is enough of a risk. There's no need to split your potential field/crowd by scheduling on Easter sunday. It only makes sense at a professional level because all those people at home are watching on tv (football on thanksgiving).

Real classy post Bacon. I don't think any track in Central or Western PA should not schedule a race until after trout season starts! We all know it snows the first day of fishing season!!!!

Don't see this race happening snow today, sunny Wen's, rain Thursday and Friday. Then cold 30% chance in am and 50% chance at night on sat.

Bridgeport has run on Easter before, and obviously, it made money or they wouldn't do it again.

I don't think going to Church is the point.

How is it sad that someone doesn't think your fairy tale holiday would affect the attendance of something as much as you do? it's ok if you believe in that, but don't act like everyone should or does.

Not trying to get into a "religious" battle but one day you will be begging to recall that statement...and I DO feel sorry for you for calling Easter a fairy tail holiday...you have your right to express your opinion...we have how many days to get our races in, but not on the day our savior has risen...

Let them race, if fans wish to go that should be their choice.  Everyone doesn't approach religion in the same manner or with the same ardor.   It's great if you do, but everyone has free will, and only has to answer to his or her own conscience as to whether or not they wish to attend a racing event on Easter.

I don't see the problem...why is it so unreasonable to go to church spend time with your family and have an early dinner to honor the lord. And at night...do what we love to do and race. I don't see this as a disgrace whatsoever. Those racing in this race should already have their cars prepared and ready to go. Load it the night before and spend the next day how you please, depending on your religion. Any good race team can pull this off just as well as any real christian/catholic can understand that god is in our hearts and mind. And we can race and still worship/praise/and give thanks to him.

If the logic is that no race tracks should race on Easter Sunday, shouldn't ALL businesses close that day?   How many will purchase something somewhere on Easter Sunday, gas, food anything?
