Maybe that's why this Country is so Screwed up.
Is it fair to a driver that is religious that they have to race this event to stay in the points?

There is... in Australia when it falls on a race night. They're racing on Easter there too.

My wife is an RN at a catholic hospital, and Easter is NOT a holiday there. For what that is worth.

Actually, Easter holiday for many health care professionals in not recognized. In fact, those who are forced to work (in other words hospital workers) are often not given holiday pay. Strange. The Holiday that most consider the MOST important to christians is hardly ever recognized amongst the health care community. Personally, I work as a nurse and will not get paid at all for Easter because I am M-F.

The state of PA does not recognize it as a holiday either, but it surely recognizes MLK day and a few others that are questionable...

is only the Christian religion believe in easter, or all? I don't know. 46 Saturday and sunny. 60+ on sunday. I'd race any day. if you don't believe in it, go with what you do believe in. I was brought up catholic, but it was shoved down my throat at a young age, and now just believe in living through people you met in life, and how you treat people daily. I've had my selfish moments in life, but as you get older you appreciate people, and life much more. do what 'you' want to do, or feels right in your bringing up. I want to race........

You might think that, but it is not.
Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day are all paid holidays for them. Time and a half if they work, straight pay if they are off. She has to work every other holiday.
Easter, at a catholic hospital, is not a paid holiday. It is a regular work day.

Just stopped by track at 1130 this morning and track looked dry on surface and was smooth, pits were dry as a bone, talked to a couple of gentlemen in pit entrance and they were of course concerned with the rainfall but seemed more concerned with the cold temps and the drivers not wanting to fire up those big engines...hopefully the rainfall misses us and the temps are not as cold as originally thought...fingers crossed...

We start racing at 6pm, so it will be very close to the high at that time, just keep the show moving and everyone will be ok. The sun is suppose to be out in the late morning through the day also.
The steel city stampede always had cold temps last 2 yrs at night and everyone was fine there. Just heat the motor up prior to your race.
