Then they raised ticket prices for next week. Which by the way, I don't understand. Bonnell is putting extra money on the line for all divisions, and they are calling it a special now? Kudos to bonnell as always for giving back to the sport, but why the increase in addmission? The track isn't adding the money..... seems weird to me.

 im surprised it took until post #19 for someone to bring this up....  it seems everyone on the forum is only here to bitch... bitch about rain, bitch about sun, its pretty pathetic.    but this is increase in money along with increase in admission is sort of a crock.... dont act like your doing the fans a favor when really they are doing you a favor buy paying $5 extra dollars

Tracks aren't making money . There's not enough cars and not enough fans to make money so admission costs increase

Mercer hasn't touched the track since last year. All the other track were working the day the snow came off. Mercer need to realize they can't expect the track to be ready with one day of work. Get the grader out and scrape the 2 or 3 inches of mud to the inside of the track and let's go racing. Very poor effort on their part

No effort? Is it the right call? With no one else locally racing I think the turnout would be biggest of year for them outside of an all star show.

 

Eldora speedway karts are running this weekend. They got 1.5 more inches according to accuweather than we did this week to this point.  Sunday night Larry Boos posted the track was sealed and they were ready for 5 straight days of rain. My point? An effort was made. A plan for rain was in place. He posted last night they are ready to go racing. Granted, there pits are gravel and not dirt (for the most part) but still effort was made.

 

We dont know the whole story of course. We are certainly not promoters on here and certainly have no idea what Mercer is thinking but I do understand the frustration as it does "APPEAR" little effort is made.

I can fully understand a track cancelling far enough in advance for those hauling in from a good distance, but once again they called it off WAY to early...makes ya scratch your head just a bit...

Eldora has the equipment to recover from torrential rain in 20 min lol other tracks can't afford that

Number 1, if the track is sealed, which I have to believe it is. The tracks surface is not the issue. What about the paying fans and the field parking around mercer ? You guys that think you no what it takes to run a business are funny. These owners/promoters are not getting rich running a race track. The first race of the year. Give the guy a break. The only guy that would make any money is the guy pulling all the cars out of the field parking and in and out of the pit area. Or should the track pay for that also ?

Can't be verified To be yet but there is a rumor that race stud may be due for a name change. To be more reflective of what a person should expect from the site, it is going to be known as race mag(moaners and groaners). Nothing will be changed except the name.

yeah its getting to be a bit much... i havent been here that long and from the looks of things i probably wont be... i just dont understand why [edit: SOME] racers bitch and complain so much!?!?! i thought they were supposed to be tough guys, not whiney bitches

Ya.  I will be at home.  And I would go fishing next week, but some of us, have to go to drill.  So Merer can take their jacked up prices, for the money their not spending, and shove it up their ass.
