history, and fab 4 don't mean crap to a team just wanting to test their car for a reasonable price. just curious, what are other tracks practice costs? maybe I'm out of line?

hey Mexican, I can tell you straight up, 7 is a very nice track. the owners, are also competitors at the track. they try small series, and an occasional lm, sprint, or big block race during the season. they don't get rich, but we race every week, and get paid every night. and they are done in 2 to 3 hours weekly. very well run, and the track is always smooth. you can have your big races, as they are usually overpriced snoozers......I've seen enough of them......

I don't think your out of line, $30 is alot I think $ 20.00 if your by yourself 50.00 for a car load that would be fair
Or if it was $30.00 per car and the crew gets in free. It's a dam shame the guys that work on the car have to pay.
Like I said LV has the history and they can charge anything they want

If you want cheap, tyler county just practiced today and we paid $15. You go to any other track and it is $25 to $30, they got bills to pay also.

the big thing is, If my crew and I go, that is 120 bucks, plus driver, 150. fuel in truck, both ways an hour and a half, 120 or more, and 60 in racing fuel. 330 for practice is tough. if closer, yes I'd pay the 30. oh well, hit 7 Friday, and wayne county Saturday. enjoy your season....

Lol. You said their track prep costs money. Thanks for the laugh. Pictures show otherwise. But I do understand the rest of your argument.

Go look on FaceBook, they tore track up Friday. I guess you'd be on here bitching that they cancelled now since it was sunny and 60 and not racing.

I don't think any drivers or fans complained about the fact of them getting the practice in. Whats upsetting is just the point that it looks like Lernerville didn't put the time in for their own drivers. The track looked incredibly slick, very rough, insanely dusty, and highly abrasive. According to facebook posts, most drivers destroyed tires during just ONE practice session. I understand Lernerville has other things to worry about and all that bullshit. But in my opinion, they did nothing for the drivers. Lernerville put no time into the track to give the racers anything of use. Only a track that cost the racers more money.
Then they robbed them at the gate for admission. Please explain why a night designed to help all racers, veteran and rookie, wealthy and poor, to get their cars tested for safety and experience purposes, needs an admission price of $20 and $30?
The whole idea just frustrates me. Its exact situations like this that reinforce why people like me couldnt continue in the sport anymore and why more and more drivers drop out. $90 to get in the pits for a group of 3. $300-400 on two rear tires. Gas to get there and fuel for the car. Could easily be over $500 total. For a practice that pays nothing? But what choice do drivers have anymore? They need to get seat time for experience and shake down their cars for safety. Might as well get as much money out of them as we can, right?
This is all just my opinion. But thanks for letting me vent.

I agree with everything in your post. I also realize the track needs to make money. My take is this; Lernerville has only held practice for the last three or four years, and got by fine without it for the first 40+ years. If I raced there, I simply wouldn't go, and I'd tell Risch, Jr. why. If they only get a handful of cars, and there is no profit to be made, then they will no longer offer practice.

Yep, instead of cancelling Saturday Dan actually tore the track up last Friday after all week rains to get it dried up a bit to race Saturday. Should have cancelled..right?
