Just a couple follow up items after talking to Matt Miley. Please plan on hot laps to start as early as 5:45. Dash will have 6 cars. If we don't have 6 heats we will add the next fastest qualifier or two who already qualified through heats. Dash will be 6 laps. B mains 8 laps. Worried about length of show. Thanks!

Thats the promoters fault if he is worried! Dont schedule auto graph night when you have an additional 40 cars plus all these races!

This should be a good show. My initial thoughts too were with autographs and also another class added that this show could last until well over 11. If the races start on time at 7 that would be good, long as their are no big wrecks or freak accidents heats could be done by 8 for everyone. Now the autograph session needs to be kept under 1 hour. The issue is by the time they get all the drivers out of the pits and onto the front stretch and then let down all the fans that alone takes lets say a good 20-25 mins. Usually they let the fans down on the track for around 40 mins so that should take about an hour. Hopefully the EL 20 race is coming to green around 9 pm.

I know it breaks tradition, anyone see a reason not to run the autograph session after the racing shows are completed?

yes because drivers want to get home! especially if your the first feature and have to wait 2 hrs around. fans wont stay, kids will fall sleep and its all about the kids.

I know it's a big inconvenience to everyone (myself included) to do these autograph/fan appreciation nights, but please remember who it's for. It is a huge deal for kids. They think it's the coolest night of the season. Instead of walking around as a grown adult, looking at the same cars you've seen a thousand times, step back and watch the reactions of the kids. It's a much more enjoyable experience, I promise. You can't do that after the races. That would make sense for those without kids, but that defeats the purpose. If you are an adult that is facsinated by the cars, please take time during the week to help a team out. There are plenty who could use it.

Yes I agree it is nice for the kids. However, if you are like some and have to get up at 4 am to work on Sunday, the last thing you want is the races going past 11 pm.

It's a Saturday night and in the middle of summer, sorry you have to work chrome that does suck, but time should never be an issue in the summer. As long as it's a nice night just enjoy the summer night and have fun!

Great post 714, not even victory lane gives you the satisfaction of everyone's face who get up close and personal with the cars and everything else that comes with autograph night.

Sometimes you don't even get home from pirate games before 11 and that could be on a weekday lol

PPMS only gets about 300 fans on races like this. The autograph session shouldn't take too long for that low amount of fans.

Spoiling the fun would be if I said to cancel it or move it. I only stated the fact that not very many people go there so won't take very long. Somebody has thin skin.

Hilly- if there are less than 300 people in the stands for this race and you are here message me and I will personally refund your $15. This is one of the biggest shows of the year at PPMS and I guarantee a great turnout.
