There is no way the 25 car was worth 25 grand. Davy Lee must be hitting the bottle again. And he was running last so not sure how he got wrecked.

Can someone explain why the racers keep going back to PPMS knowing how bad it is!
After 15 years of racing there, and going there off and on since 1987, I think I've finally had enough. I have rocks the size of golf balls laying on top of my rad, I couldn't see, fans couldn't see... even the track workers couldn't see. Single file restarts annouced before we even started because they knew we wouldn't be able to see.
Before the caution with 2 laps to go in the sportsman feature, I watched a hunk of metal get hit at race speed for 2 laps, then for 2-3 laps under caution I watched it get hit again all the way around turn 1 and 2. Including the front of my car and flying over the pass side fender. That's when I stopped on the beginning of the back stretch trying to point at it while everyone else drove by and the track ignored me. I think they were yelling at me on the radio to get moving, but I didn't want them to turn us loose with that in the middle of the track. From what I could see it was a couple bars and aluminum from someone's bumper and in the 5 - 10 lb range. Doesn't Nascar throw a caution for a water bottle?
I've needed a new car for years... 15 years on a chassis is crazy and this convinced me to put 'the blonde' out to pasture. The fun of racing at PPMS is gone.
A friend that takes phone camera videos from the stands shared some with me today. I'll see about getting them on youtube this week.

I see many have loyalties to the track and management. Why, I don't understand. The track will never be what it was. If this doesn't fall under a safety issue then I don't no what does. I've seen the remains of a car that got slammed into. Many thought the driver was in very serious condition, it was not his day to be called, drivers need to just pull off the track. Don't guess, just do it, everyone will be happy you did.

I would agree with Jo73 if the track conditions are so bad the teams should just boycott the facility. Its not worth someone getting seriously injured or worse. And I wouldn't find fault with the fans boycotting the place either since the stands are in such poor condition. No one wants to see a facility close but if your concerns are falling on deaf ears its time to stop supporting the place.

Jon- the telephone pole on the inside between turns 1 and 2, not the big white tire post at the end of the straightaway. I have no clue how he did that much damage on the inside of the track mid turn.

Sparkler. The picture you posted, and I will ask others, is this truly how BAD the conditions where ? If so, WHY, are drivers putting themselves in harms way. PPMS, there is no excuse. RIDICULOUS !!!
Yes, jo73, it was really that bad. And here are the ruts:
