None of the top 50 in Lucas points are allowed to race Thursday night unless they have points at ppms.
what is the logic behind that rule?

I think it's a great move by the promoter.
I'll pay the front gate cost tonight.
I'll probably go to Attica Friday and Mercer Saturday for sprints, instead of paying the high cost to watch latemodels those two days. I think I paid it last year, because other tracks near by were rained out or it was a different date. I didn't expect to see the good cars that were there when I went, I went there because it was the only place around to go watch a race. If I'm remembering correctly Bloomquist hit the wall going into 3 and continued on for a good finish.
Tonight, I have no problem paying the front gate price because it's the only show in town and isn't all that much. I think it's a great move for the promoter to get more income out of his track, especially if its needed to pay out the big show later. Anyway, he gets my nickel tonight and I'm happy to have someplace to go watch. But I will take my respirator in with me, remembering how it was early on last time there for the Allstar race.
Thanks Matt for providing a place to go watch racing tonight. I'll be prepared for the filth from the dust. ...

With the weather it is today, should be a great show, I think you might see some pretty ridiculous laps at least early on in the night.

How many of those guys will be this weekend (besides Davey)? Somewhere along the way the WoO guys except for a select few started sticking to a WoO only schedule and same with the Lucas guys, so I think Chub, Clanton, Eckert and Boom are questionable, Lanigan very unlikely and Richards maybe better than 50-50. The Blairs have resotrted to cherry picking easy money, so this is definitely not up their alley, and I imagine Dan Stone will stay home.Shane Clanton , Lanigan , Eckert , Tim Shaffer ,Chub Frank , Boom Briggs, Davey Johnson , Blairs ,Tim Fuller , Dan Stone just to name a few that could run Thursday night.
Satterlee can likely run tonight and would likely be the favorite.

I know Clanton will not be there. He'll be in GA.
Good example. With the exception of Bloomquist, these guys don't deviate from their series anymore. Darrell Lanigan won a ton of races last year. They were all pretty much on the WoO schedule. Bloomquist was the only non WoO driver to come to the Firecracker. Maybe someone could explain this trend to me. It seems like a lot of these guys are leaving money on the table.
