Sheppard and his crew hung out at Baker's trailer all night. Both Lucas and WoO have rules limiting their point guys running outside there sanctions. Bad for the fans, but this was done to keep promoters from "piggy backing" non Lucas and WoO shows and getting there top runners without paying sanction fees.I thought there would be a few more area, or regional guys there trying out the track, but it was a good show anyway. Gearhead, who is Brown?

It was some great racing last night, that King and Ferree battle was pretty awesome, as was the close racing between Jared and Daryl in the crates for a few laps.  Congrats to all of the champions this  year also!  Cant wait for this weekend...

Glad to see Brian back at the track also running the grader, hope he gets his medical issues all settled.

PS....Tim I really wish I  had listened to you and stayed home, it sure was a terrible experience in the "desert."  You are spot on with all of your information.

lol ditto!

Definitely good news Brain in back in action!

Both the late and crate races were excellent last night.

Sucks to see Josh  and Gunn get his cars tore up bad last night. Hope no one got hurt.

Barbara having engine trouble sucks too.

I hope we return today to find the grounds groomed finally, there are some sizeable saplings starting to take a good set along the infield fence!

Good luck to all, looking forward to some good racing, good times and a safe event for everyone!

Chris Brown.  He's running for Lucas ROY with BShepp.  Brown has been running really well lately.

It's going to be wall to wall skating rink today ... I would much rather that than the grandstand side heavy and the pit parking side slick

I think its all about the benjamins with who is loyal to what series. When Bloomquist was loyal to the Lucas series he was getting a sizable amount to show. And not that he wasnt worth it cause he did draw and still draws in the crowd!

The reason any drivers follow either national series is because they get a sizable amount to show.

You're Welcome, Paul, I'm glad it was better. I wonder if it had anything to do with the emails that myself, and I am sure, many others sent to LOLMDS Race Directors, after the earlier fiascoes, warning them of what they might be getting into, had anything to do with it???

I am disappointed, that I missed what you all seem to think is the best show you have seen in years... BUT, the car count, speaks a different story!

I'm sure the Lucas Oil officials are in dire need of your help in determining where to hold their races.  Get over yourself.  Outside of 3 or 4 dusty nights, the track prep and surface  at PPMS has been fine this summer. And Tim, we don't think the racing was good on Thursday night, it really was.  In spite of people like you who want the track to fail, as long as PPMS provides good racing, which it usually does, despite its shortcomings, enough fans will turn out to keep the place open.

Just got in, all in all a good, no enjoyable great night of racing.  I especially enjoyed the crates and second the back and forth for the win in the super late feature.  Sure glad I went.  The legend did fine.  Smart young man, knows he needs seat time per what he's said on here and got some.

As far as the oil pump goes, I thought the super lates ran an external oil pump off a belt.  I didn't know it was in the pan.

... and hey... :)  I was there at the races tonight, it was time well spent and I had fun.

the oil pump can be changed at the track. But when you lose oil pressure at 8500rpm you dont want to take the chance of running that engine. It needs torn apart and all lubed components need checked and replaced at minimum.

Tim get over yourself. When you were involved with cars at the track they were always backmarkers anyways. Not like your words carry alot of weight. And as flash said I am sure lucas oil could give 2 chits about what some asshat emailed them about the track.

Flash, that is just it, I do NOT want the track to fail, Hell I have been going there for over 30 years! I am not trying to close the damn joint, I'm trying to fight to keep the old girl alive! I didn't send an email to Lucas, to close it, or try to influence where they sanction their races, it was to address a problem, with the current management's disregard for driver safety! Do I think I am some kind of superpower??? Fuk, NO, BUT, I am entitled to an opinion. and have an obligation to gripe when management disregards track safety, to ALL! I do not claim to have single-handedly changed a damn thing, BUT I would hope the discourse here has somewhat helped to bring about positive change! It takes a community, to foster change!

I wish I could believe that, because when anything bad happens at the track, you can't wait to get on here and rant.  To me, it even seems like you gloat a bit.  Track safety isn't generally an issue at PPMS, I'm sure the dust was very bad the night the Sportsman had their race in August (I wasn't there), but to say that is the norm rather than an anomaly is plain wrong.  Change is usually brought about from constructive criticism (some of which you have given at times), but not from a constant barrage of negativity.

You are correct flash. In fact I believe he started a topic and said something a long the lines of I have been home for 3 hours and can't believe nobody has said anything about the track conditions. Some people are complaining about the car count in late models. Most of the cars there are decent cars. In this day and age you will not get 75 cars for a 20 grand to win race. Those days are long gone.

What about the night UNOH was there? They didn't water the track, Till Tony Stewart told them to do so, before the Sprints went on track, for their feature.

The track clearly needed watered that night, and whether Stewart told them to do it, or they did it on their own, it was done.   I don't know if it would have been dangerously dusty, but it sure would have been a boring race, because earlier in the evening, no one was running up high, which is what makes PPMS so exciting.  Even then, some fans were bitching because it was a Sunday night and they wanted to get home.

Sounds great to me, but, THAT confirms the Anomaly, that Flash pointed out, Ben hates a wet tacky track! It is a disadvantage ti his spec engine...
