the Sportsman put up the highest car count this year at 52..with a decent purse and the right promotion we all saw what can happen.

If you throw in the 2nd Penn Ohio show which drew 32 cars the "Cadets" had the two highest car counts of the year outside of the Pittsburgher.

So having a touring race that pays 2k to win and drawing cars in a division that normally pays 400 means what ??? 7pm Saturday night heat 1 goes green at the greatest show on earth ... Them droping a guaranteed money losing cadet headliner means as much to me as davensnort ripping lines of coke off some dudes chawk in an air port bathroom

My point is it doesn't make sense to drop a higher paying Sportsman race when the support has been there all year. But not my call.

Jon i agree but this track is surviving on back gate. Not 5,000 fans a weekend.

Matt I need a corrected receipt that shows that the 100.00 was taken  out of the check . since entry fees are deductible on taxs. This will show my accountant that it was paid. thank you

I guess I'm not making my point clear. If those 7 Sportsman brought 3 crew members with them at $35 the track broke even. Do the math for the Crates or a SLM show where 7 cars show up. This is the very reason you don't see SLM until Memorial Day and not after Labor Day. The extra fans they bring aren't correlating to a profit. Economies of scale. So when 20+ Sportsman show up for the same $1,000 to win the SLM get weekly (well actually $1100) they do better (500 fans) than 600 fans to watch 7 SLM. So again to me it doesn't make sense to drop a show for them or say the events aren't as important as SLM because they only had X number of fans. Which I also disagree with as it was one of the best crowds all season sans Pittsburgher.

Sharon has applefest this weekend and the race that ppms dropped is mercer little guys nationals. Smart move on ppms part.

sorry Chuck didn't mean to hijack your thread here bud. And no not pointed at you just more the lack of respect Sportsman cars seem to get in general and how well they do support big shows.

Mexican Bob- that makes sense now. No argument from me on scheduling against big shows. But if I had the money would love to pay back a few things from earlier in the year that weekend 😃

This was all brought on my PPMS management. It was and is nothing but a money grab and more and more fans and most importantly the racers are seeing it more clearly. They are driving nails into there own coffin. So again the racer is going to get screwed. Vince, you said it yourself, the back gate is what they count on. Then why the hell cancel a show that unquestionably brings in good car counts and people ? PPMS why ???

I believe as Vince said, the Mercer Little Guy Nationals is on the same weekend.   That race has a long history of fan and driver support, which would severely curtail the fans and cars able to come to PPMS.
